Scar is a killing machine. Born from DNA spliced between the extinct Megalodon and modern-day Great White, he has a viciousness that transcends time. His evil is reflected in his eyes, his savagery in his two-inch serrated teeth, his ruthlessness in his trail of death. Story
A series of violent shark attacks off the shores of northern California draw the attention of pessimistic Detective Luke Jansen. Despite reports of shark sightings, the injuries are more reminiscent of a chainsaw-wielding maniac. Things get stranger when marine biologist Elise Sheldon encounters the creature. Exhausted and traumatized, her claims that the beast is a Helicoprion are dismissed. With little help from the police department, Luke and Elise form an unlikely alliance that puts them face-to-face with a violent man-eating shark, and its terrifying reason for existing.

The brightest light casts the darkest shadow. Shadows can obscure the worst of horrors. No shadow is darker than those cast by time. No horror is worse than vengeance. Retired Marine Sergeant Rick Eilerman thought his past was behind him. But that allusion breaks when armed men capture him and his girlfriend in the dead of night. After awakening on a boat, he is reunited with the same fireteam he commanded in the military. Very quickly, it becomes clear that someone chose them for a reason.

Well...
The premise of the story isn't bad. That being said, this is the worst narrator I have ever heard. The terminology was way off. Seems to me that if you are going to write a book rooted in the real world, you would want to do a little bit of research into such things, example; calling Coast Guard "Soilders" as opposed to "Guardsmen". I know that is small, but when you make those kinds of mistakes over and over, it adds up and takes away from the story. Couple this with poorly written characters and, as I stated earlier, the worst, most boring narrator ever, you make what could have been a great idea and book and flush it down the toilet. I would not recommend this book at all.

Enjoyable despite some small issues
Yes, it is a tropey story but it is enjoyable. Fun idea, pretty much a summer action flick in book form. The narrator was good, not great, occassionaly stilted. really quiet sometimes then very loud when a character was speaking. Also, its foliage, not "foilage" and Cretaceous, not "crustaceous". The narrator has a great voice, just needs to work on a few things. I finished the book and did not want to return it for what that is worth. Fun time.

Not all bad
Well there was good parts and bad. Unfortunately a lot more bad both with the narration of the story and the story itself.
The performance of the book I felt let the story down as I was to busy cringing to truly enjoy the story however the story itself especially the way the charachter dialogue was written was truly awful. It made the charachters sound like bad actors in a bad tv show.
The story itself wasnt the greatest but it kept me listening to the end as i wanted to know what happened.
I would try another book by this author IF the same narrator wasnt doing the narration.
