Publisher's Summary

Scott Sebastian is a liar.

Fitting, since I'm a liar too.

Yet there's no place for me in his glittering world of half truths.

With all our secrets in the open, I should stop trying. What I've learned should send me running far away. I can’t keep pining for a man in love if I’m not the woman he’s in love with.

But it's not that easy to escape the Sebastians. I already knew they owned this city.

Now I'll find out if they also own their son.

This book is great

This was the last book in the Man In Charge series. It was a wonderful story and the narrators were perfect. Ohhhh Jacob Morgan!!! What that voice of yours can do during the sex scenes 👍🔥🔥 Definitely panty melting. I loved the book and I love the author. It's a must read. You wont be disappointed.

Did not finish

I could not listen to the female narrator anymore, or hear “The DRF” again. The ending was predictable, so I didn’t feel the need to keep listening.

The Cutest!

the characters were amazing, sex was amazing, minimal cringy moments, the jealousy was adorable, all in all, so enjoyable! I tend to like darker romances with more drama, but this was a needed breath of fresh air!
and I just have to say, Jacob Morgan's voice is so effing sexy. I want to lick his voice haha. he's my favorite narrator, hands down. has been for a LONG time. the duel narration was phenomenal. I giggled a few times because I knew how awkward that had to be for them while they were recording it. they seem to have great chemistry.

Part 2-A sexy, well paced corporate romance

While both part 1 & part 2 could have been edited to 1 long book, there wasn't a huge amount of fluff so the 2 part format was ok for this story and it did introduce a lot of the family. Also the performance as a superb duet narration and a pleasure to listen to so more duets. would be a winning combination. I hope there will be more books on this family since Scott Sebastian has brothers and a sister plus cousins. The parents are great examples of selfish, over privileged, narcissistic pricks and the grandpa is a wonderful character. Parts of the story were predictable but mostly it was an enjoyable read and an even better listen on Audible. The ending was a bit rushed and it would be great to have more follow up of Scott and Tess in a story about another family member. It was great seeing the hero willing to sacrifice for the heroine and also that she doesn't give up her dreams to be with the guy. They have to work for their ending as well as not giving up on their goal for a good cause. I highly recommend this 2 book story if you want a good, erotic romance with some modern, ethnic and sexually liberated characters.

So, I swooned. Several times. Okay, a lot.

The narrators are excellent together! Love them!

One of the absolute best contemporary romance duets I've had the pleasure of reviewing. Scott and Tess are completely magnetic. Their chemistry is off the charts, and the passion... is out of this world. But what happens when the one thing you want, you need, you love the most becomes an ultimatum?
Is love enough?
We watch the characters grow and become more self-aware as the book progresses. They learn what they want and what they refuse to settle for. An emotional journey full of passion and healing, and a few things that will take you by complete surprise, only scratch the surface of how wonderful this book (duet) is.
Grandpa is one of favorite characters!😉
I bought both audio and eBook. This is my review for the audiobook. Five-plus stars!❤❤❤❤❤

Total Deceit and Hypocrisy

Tessbwas who, and Scott a bastard, to get together as they did and to foowed it up after leaving theie identities even more so, especially for Tess, Sleeping with her fiancé and boss at her house, way below the belt. I was happy to see Kendra catching up to them, yet Tess still acted with no shame, ugk! Totally disgusting, thus a very unlikable character. Tess spoke of respect, but she lied and disrespected all around her. This was /is a fuked up character, didn't like her in the leasy

OH YOU’RE GOOD LAURELIN.. BOOK 2 WAS GREAT

Well wow, book 2 certainly didn’t disappoint and, as Tess and I were left reeling about the shocking cliffy in book 1, Scott had some serious explaining and backpedaling to do. The alpha hero had some secrets.. but then so did Tess and Laurelin Page wrote the perfect rollercoaster journey for these two as truths were slowly revealed, boundaries were set and given, ultimatums clashed with sizzling chemistry and wise words from an old soul created character growth and new possibilities where there had been none. Exciting, entertaining and a well-paced and packed storyline had me totally engrossed in Tess and Scott’s journey to the HEA. The dual POV narration was excellent and I love love love Jacob Morgan’s very talented tones. WORTH A CREDIT? Yes.. and this skilled storyteller is on my instant ‘one click’ list.

Great characters and an enjoyable story

Really enjoyed this little duet. I liked the characters and the story. My favourite was the grandpa, he was great and Jacob did a great job distinguishing the character's voices. He's such a great narrator, they both were.

This book has ruined me though for other audibooks though because the duet narration was so great, listening to a female put on a male's voice no longer give the same feels.

Wish more audiobooks have duet narration.

What a great way to end a fantastic new duet!

It’s rare that I get so excited about a new book series but oh my life this is a goodie! This is the conclusion to the Man in Charge Duet and all those twists and turns and loose ends are tied up nicely in a pretty bow by the end. There are lies upon lies and Tessa discovers she’s not the only one who’s been telling them. The chemistry between these two is ridiculous. Laurelin can most certainly write a scene. The filth that comes out of their mouths, yes please to dirty talk, I am so here for it. The story and the characters are developed from mere descriptions to people you are invested in. You want love to prevail, against all odds. You can’t help but hope the sacrifices made weren’t in vain. This writing is impressive and I am thirsty for more. I have no idea whose book is next but I need it. It will be an easy one click preorder for me.

I have absolutely loved the duet narration by Emily and Jacob. You could feel the energy between them. It made the story and the emotions so much more believable. There was a little more from Scott’s point of view in this one so we go to hear the many voices of Jacob in all their glory. Stellar performance by both narrators, a great choice of voice actors to show us all the colours of Tessa and Scott’s relationship. And as a little bonus there are some hilarious outtakes at the end. Who doesn’t love a good blooper?! I know I do.

Great performances by the narrators but such a predictable ending

The story became too predictable with a really weak second half. Ended up a bit disappointed! It’s a shame as I really loved
