Mama Ruby is a page turner...you can't put down!

Once again Mary Monroe has captivated me with a story that is told so vivid and to the point about Ruby Jean Upshaw. Although her young life was full of tragedy Monroe lures you in and sends the listener/reader on a roller coaster ride. I listened to this book before the prequel The Upper Room but I am anxious to see what happens to Mama Ruby. Great job Mary Monroe!

very exciting

Both characters remind me of a Thelma and Louise. I was sad how it ended. I hope there's a part two .

Amusing and Entertaining

The characters were entertaining and fully-developed. The storyline was amusing and intriguing. As much as I absolutely loved this book, I felt equally disappointed by the ending.

This book left me holding on to each word.Each chapter was just as good as the last! Every character believed and exciting!

Relatable

Growing up in Louisiana listening to the old people’s tales and the characters reminded me of people I know.🤣✊🏿👏🏿👏🏿

Mama ruby is nothing to be played with.! Good from the beginning to end and wish it didn’t end.

Movie next

This series should be made into a Series for Netflix . The characters are relatable and story line also. This could be an avenue for new Faces.

I love how it gave us the back storey. This part def answered alot of my questions for part 1

Good story

I didn’t realize this was a series of books so I read the Upper Room first. I’m on track now because I’m about to start the third one. I must admit I found this one more interesting. Some of it was really sad because of the horror some people were faced with even as young kids.

The Back story !

These Series are wonderfully written! You don’t have to wait for the climax each page builds and builds on top of each other, there are no slow parts !
