Publisher's summary

"Narrators Muffy Newtown and Jacob Morgan will make listeners blush and laugh their way through this Las Vegas-based romantic comedy in which the sin extends beyond the city...Newtown is great at emphasizing character individuality and sneaking humor into her delivery. Morgan, with his swoon-inducing, even-toned, perfectly paced voice, is everything listeners want in a hero." (AudioFile Magazine)

A new stand-alone, laugh-out-loud romantic comedy by New York Times best-selling author Helena Hunting.

Cosy Felton is great at her job - she knows just how to handle the awkwardness that comes with working at an adult toy store. So when the hottest guy she’s ever seen walks into the shop looking completely overwhelmed, she’s more than happy to turn on the charm and help him purchase all of the items on his list.

Griffin Mills is using his business trip in Las Vegas as a chance to escape the broken pieces of his life in New York City. The last thing he wants is to be put in charge of buying gag gifts for his friend’s bachelor party. Despite being totally out of his element, and mortified by the whole experience, Griffin is pleasantly surprised when he finds himself attracted to the sales girl that helped him.

As skeptical as Cosy may be of Griffin’s motivations, there’s something about him that intrigues her. But sometimes what happens in Vegas doesn’t always stay in Vegas and when real life gets in the way, all bets are off. Filled with hilariously awkward situations and enough sexual chemistry to power Sin City, Making Up is the next stand-alone in the Shacking Up world.

Disappointing from this author

I listen to several audiobooks a week and usually choose from the Audible Escape, so when I buy or use a precious credit on a non-Escape audiobook, it's because I really believe it will be top-notch. I LOVE Helena Hunting as an author, and really enjoyed the other books in this series about the Mills brothers. This one feels like it was written by someone else. It makes NO sense that Griffin, a serial monogamist, would fall in love with the next woman he dates. Maybe if he had spent some time away from relationships, it would be more believable. It also doesn't work that the heroine, Cosy, who is very likeable, is the person Griffin is interested in. There is no explanation to them falling in love, why these two? The age difference is a point of concern for them both, but never resolved. Why is Cosy a 22-year-old virgin? That is explained, but not in a satisfying way. Being a virgin and losing your virginity is not sexy. Griffin seems completely insistent on keeping Cosy in his life, but the author never gets you to understand why he loves her or why she loves him. I'm used to listening to audiobooks that are weak on believability from the Escape membership, but not from this author. And the other reviews of the female narrator that describe her penchant for drawing out an extra syllable in words is so true! I have hear her read books in which she doesn't do this, but when she does it a lot, it is eye-rolling and annoying. Great voice, bad delivery.

you won't regret this purchase

wow. Just...wow.

Full of romance, some impressive, seriously distracting, sex, genuine love, witty humor, genuine heart ache (really made me mad, actually), fun characters, and just all around great book. I may actually listen to this a second time.

I listened to this at home, in the shower, making dinner, the ENTIRE time I was at work.... I COULD NOT PUT THIS DOWN.

I gave this a shot bc I liked her book "Meet Cute", but this one blew that one out of the water....torpedoed the shit out of it.

I loved this book; I'll be purchasing another right after I submit this review. 👍

Was ok

I fell bad saying this but
Why muffy?
Why do you read like that?
Every sentence is so drawn out it’s so distracting and ANNOYING!!!!

So as far everything she narrates
I have to speed her part up
Which drives me nuts
So I finally gave up on this story when I could take no more.

Making Up Made Me Happy!

I loved this new installment in the series! Interesting characters develop over time so I became invested in them and in their relationship. Cosy has a fun personality and I love how she created a persona to conduct adult toy sales and make the most of it. She is cute, quirky, and smart. Griffin is just plain yummy with a dash of mature integrity on top. I love how they meet, how they interact initially, and how they tackle each surprising snag, bump, and bitch trying to tear them apart.

I listened on Audible and both narrators were definitely on point! Jacob Morgan and Muffy Newtown are some of my favorites and really put the icing on this story. These truly talented narrators are auto-buys for me.

I have really enjoyed the whole series so far and look forward to more!

Griffin and Cosy FOREVER!

I’ve wanted to read Griffin’s story for a long time. Helena did not disappoint bringing Griffin and Cosy together. I loved every word and the narration team of Jacob Morgan and Muffy Newtown brought those words to life!!!

Almost gave up

I’m so glad I continued with the story. The 2nd half was soooo much better than the first. Once they started having g issues as a couple it got much more interesting.

As always, the narrators did great!

x-x/2+7=acceptable

We FINALLY get to really meet Griffin!!! His and Cosy's story is a good one. Having a 14 year age difference between my hubby and myself I totally felt for their almost 11 year age difference. Cosy and Griffen are both perfect for each other though. They both love to travel and see new places. They even have a cute-meet and a great give and take. Their story takes place mostly in Vegas and other than Muffy pronouncing Nevada wrong once (it's Ne-va-duh not Ne-vah-da I live there I know) Ms. Hunting had a pretty good grasp of it in southern NV. While Armstrong made a cameo, I slightly missed Brittany Whorington, ack! I never thought I would say that!!!
The storyline was a fun one. The angst was huge at times and lying-liar-liarton got what they deserved. Even though they are all stand alone read or listen to the Shaking-Up series in order so you know who is who.
