Disappointed

The last book in the Bailey Flanigan series is a disappointment for me. Kingsbury spent a lot of time building up the relationship between Cody and Bailey only to let it die in the end. If she was going to finish the book the way that she did, then I don't fee that she should have let the listener have so many feelings about Cody and Bailey being together. I am not sure if I am going to listen to any more books by Kingsbury for awhile. I have listened to or read all of her books until this point, however, I think this series has spoiled that for me for awhile. While I think she is an amazing author, she did not do this seried justice and left many of her fans disappointed with this latest installment of the Bailey Flanigan series.

The narrators in the book were great and portrayed a miriad of emotions, it was just the story that was disappointing.

typical unrealistic love story

Would you try another book from Karen Kingsbury and/or the narrators?

I would try another book would not expect anything deep.

The book goes into how "special" Bailey is and how she is a woman of God. But she seems pretty unremarkable and even a bit whiny and demanding. She expect Brandon to do all the work, to chase her and love her. Only ONCE in the books and I see her do anything special for Brandon. She wanted to pray for this amazing day that she had BUT she stopped and actually listen to God when God said, "Wait and let Brandon take the lead".
It was a first time in the whole book where I felt like she respected him at all.

True love is when people give a 100% each other. And not when one person is sacrificing everything for the other person.

Would you ever listen to anything by Karen Kingsbury again?

Yes, But I wouldn't buy the book. It would have to be free.

What about the narrators’s performance did you like?

Narrator's were great! I had no complaint

Could you see Loving being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

Well I didn't enjoy the story as much as maybe someone else would. I can't stand Bailey Flanigan the main character. She is selfish and doesn't think of Brandon very much at all. It feels like the love is totally one sided. Brandon her boyfriend is the one that always seems to be making sacrifices. I don't want to go into detail completely to spoil it but I found myself thinking Billy you're spoiled and you only want what "You want" and "You alone".

OK but.......

If you???ve listened to books by Karen Kingsbury before, how does this one compare?

I have read almost every book that Karen Kingsbury has ever written. I was really looking forward to listening to this last book in the series. Even though I was disappointed at who Bailey ended up with, my review does not focus on that. My two thoughts when I finished this book were: 1) did I miss a book in the series? (which I didn't) and 2) did Karen Kingsbury really write this book? It just didn't seem like her style and also, there was such a 180 turnaround from Book 3 to Book 4 on people's feelings. I really feel like Karen Kingsbury let us down in this book - maybe she didn't care how it ended, just that it did?? I don't know.

A Joyful Book about Love the Christian Way by Karen Kingsbury

For those talented actors, trying to live Christian lives, life can and does continue to be challenging and strewn with trials. Loving is about a box office topper and his actress girlfriend. Paparazzi mercilessly interfere with all attempts at being together. Others see their faith as a weakness to pounce on. This novel shows their paths together, apart, and the temptations they face as each seek to find each other and the love they seek together. An easy to read story with points for each of us to consider ourselves.

Disappointed

I couldn’t believe that Cody and Bailey didn’t get together with all they had been thru for so many years. I almost didn’t listen to this book because I had a feeling of what was going to happen.
