A decent listen... not her best.

I have read everyone of Karen Kingsbury's novels except this one. I love them all, some more than others, this is ranked kinda low for me. The narrator was a little overwhelming in the "emotional" parts of the book. A decent listen, but unless you want to catch up to the amazing sequel A MOMENT OF WEAKNESS, not sure i'd waste a book credit.

"Great is thy Faithfulness"

Very emotional and touching story. Barbara Caruso does an excellent job narrating. You can feel the empathy in her voice as she does the different characters. Personally, she is one of my favorite narrators.

Surprisingly real

I struggled to finish this one. The story was awesome and shockingly realistic but I just couldn't stand the main character. That is a good thing though. I think she acted exactly as someone in her position would act. That is why I say it is shockingly real.

Love Karen Kingsbury books

Ive been waiting to read this book then to my disappointment as I started listening I realized I already read this 1st book of a trilogy last year and passed it on to a friend. I loved it back then but was worn out by the end from the suffering and couldn’t continue the trilogy I’d bought. Maybe I’ll dig out and try book 2 now. I just can’t take that much suffering all at once, God’s there and you have to find some happiness, hope and peace.

Best reader

I've listened to many many books. Barbara Caruso, the one who read this book, is the best I've heard. She has a very comfortable voice, great emotion, varied voices...excellent, just excellent!!!!!

Very Moving

We may never experience such tragedy and loss like Hannah or Jennie, but know that God is faithful in all things brings me comfort. Thank you Karen Kingsbury

Awesome! Great is thy Faithfulness oh Lord!

At first I truly struggled to listen to the story because of the grief I felt in my heart for the characters, it was though my life story was being told again. As I continued because I couldn't stop, I am reminded of God's love and His faithfullness. We live in a fallen world and tragedy is going to happen but it is not God's fault.

Usual Kingsbury

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

I've tried several Kingsbury books now and most of them are very depressing. They always have a message, but you are left feeling very down until you get to the message.

Would you be willing to try another book from Karen Kingsbury? Why or why not?

I've tried 5. No more.

How could the performance have been better?

This narrator is very one dimensional. There is little if any voice difference between characters. The story is read well, but not performed.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

No

Don't do it!

What disappointed you about Waiting for Morning?

THe story line is about as sad as can be.

What didn’t you like about Barbara Caruso’s performance?

TOO much emotion! By the end of the book I really couldn't stand to listen to her say "Daddy & Alicia" one more time.

What character would you cut from Waiting for Morning?

Carole

Any additional comments?

First experience with this author &/or narrator. My first review & I'm a long time Audible listener. It really was THAT bad.
