From New York Times bestselling author Tricia O’Malley, Charmed meets The Pumpkin Spice Café in this cozy romantasy about a witch returning to Scotland to break a family curse—only to clash with one grumpy Scotsman determined to protect his town from her haywire magic.

She’s hexed. He’s vexed. And for Scotland’s most magical small-town, their feud might just spell disaster.

Sloane MacGregor swore she’d never return to Briarhaven, but with her twenty-fifth birthday looming—the day witches come into their magic—her grandmother summons her and her sisters back for one tiny task: break the centuries-old curse haunting their bloodline.

Knox Douglas, Briarhaven’s grumpy mayor, has worked tirelessly to make his town a haven for magical folk. The last thing he needs is a cursed MacGregor wreaking havoc. It doesn’t matter he once crushed on her. For the sake of Briarhaven, Sloane has to go.

But magic has other plans—and in Briarhaven, love really is a witch.

This author has such an incredible imagination. This story is completely unpredictable, which is the first thing I loved about it. But all the fantasy, the descriptive details, the rich characters, their backstory, their present story is so completely full and exciting, it creates one very compelling, creative and captivating story. I loved it & highly recommend it. As far as the narrators, I have a very critical ear when it comes to declaring good narration. I work with authors & narrators and check audio books before they are uploaded to ACX. Therefore, I can be tough to win over. Secondly, I am typically not a fan of two narrators involved in one story. However, these two narrators worked out beautifully. I must admit I am very impressed. Well done!
Don’t pass this one by.

Tricia O'Malley is at the top of her game in this title. she quickly engages us into the lives of family, town, and familiars and takes us on a wonderful sleigh ride of a story. The book is wonderfully narrated by two performers, with a dual storyline told in first person by the two protagonists. Heartily recommended!

great story well told and performed

It’s fun when authors bring a character in the storyline from another series, whether just mentioned or is there with purpose.

Characters were great! Even Mandy. Lol.

I found at times the female audio performer was hard to understand ( might be that I'm not used to Scottish accents). The overall story was great and I look forward to additional books in the series!!

the storyline was Sweet!

This is the very first Tricia O’Malley’s books that I have really struggled with the narration on. They affected accent, the fake voices. Shudder!! It would’ve been better if we’re all read in monotone. The storyline was fun.

Good story, horrific narrator

Great story and hopefully world building. Excellent narration! Great characters, Knox is every women’s dream. Sloane grew so much by the end. I wish I had Broka as my grandmother. Hopefully we’ll get stories about nova and Lyra, the other two sisters. There are hints about Lyra’s potential Beau.

Loved it!

I didn't like the narrator's of this book, it felt off to me, after all the books I have listened to. They didn't fit the book at all Other than that it is a great story.

Narration.

This was a cozy fantasy romance that was the perfect pallet cleanser after a few heavier reads. A whimsical, fun story with the perfect balance of family, struggle, a touch of spice, and delightfully magical creatures. However, I was not a fan of a female narrator. Her voice throughout the entire book was overly animated and almost cartoonish at times. Other than that, I would recommend this if you want cozy and zesty fantasy romance to read. Perfect in time for fall.

Cute, cozy fantasy romance!
