Publisher's summary

The best-selling author of Hold Me Tight presents a revolutionary new understanding of why and how we love, based on cutting-edge research.

Every day, we hear of relationships failing and questions of whether humans are meant to be monogamous. Love Sense presents new scientific evidence that tells us that humans are meant to mate for life. Dr. Johnson explains that romantic love is an attachment bond, just like that between mother and child, and shows us how to develop our "love sense" - our ability to develop long-lasting relationships.

Love Sense covers the three stages of a relationship and how to best weather them; the intelligence of emotions and the logic of love; the physical and psychological benefits of secure love; and much more. Based on groundbreaking research, Love Sense will change the way we think about love.

I am no longer anxious about relationships

Love Sense and Hold Me Tight have explained why all my relationships ended. In fact they explained why almost every argument happened and insecurity came from! Now that I know what a loving relationship, that will last the decades, is securely based on I am ready to connect again. Now I know what to spend time cultivating...and how to do it. I think every man and woman from the age of 15 to the year they die should read both books once a year. When they find their relationships distressed these books should be read over and over that year.

I threw away a couple of amazing women in my time. I wish I could read these books, go back in time and do it right.

I would be willing to bet if two people, that have never met, were to invest in these concepts they would never part and genuinely love each other forever. These concepts will change the world, for the better, and divorce rates dwindle to single digits if we can learn this, live it and teach our children from the very beginning.

I can't wait to read/listen to Created for Connection. I am a better man, friend, coworker, son, brother and uncle for having read these books. Read them. They will change your lives. Men don't be afraid to be seen reading these. You won't regret it!

Thank you Audible for making these books available.

Simply awesome!

Amazing book. Could be read before Hold Me Tight. The narration by Dr. Johnson really adds to the material in my opinion.

Enjoyed the more scientific presentation

I enjoyed how the author presented the material any more scientific presentation. I also enjoyed the variety of scientific studies she included in the book.

narrated version well worth it

I loved how Sue Johnson herself narrated and brought her experiences and insights by many examples with couples and their struggles that resonated so clearly with my wife and myself. very helpful for us to start a dialog about very sensitive struggles in out relationship of 25 years of marriage.

Pretty Good

Things bogged down a little through the long case studies. But for some, I could see that being the highlight. I could have done without so many. Besides that, some really insightful science with substantial studies to back up her claims.

I'd say all couples could benefit from listening/reading this book together.

Helpful

As a 40-year-old who's been baffled by relationships, never having been able to make one stick, the information in this book was eye-opening. Now to find some further reading on "attachment styles." I recommend Love Sense to anyone who has struggled to understand relationship issues.

The reading by the author in her lovely English accent was a nice plus!

Good. Could subtract humanist manifesto at the end.

Good content. Could subtract the humanist manifesto at end and keep it within the scope of relationships. Felt like this book was amazing until I got to the last 2-3 chapters /: but everything before that point was outstanding.

Emotionally scientific

Dr. Sue Johnson does an excellent job explaining the science of love for the non-scientific person. She balances the science with examples that resonate with any couple (from those with relationship difficulties to those with secure bonds).
