Story
Arthur is only in New York for the summer, but if Broadway has taught him anything, it’s that the universe can deliver a showstopping romance when you least expect it. Ben thinks the universe needs to mind its business. If the universe had his back, he wouldn’t be on his way to the post office carrying a box of his ex-boyfriend’s things. But when Arthur and Ben meet-cute at the post office, what exactly does the universe have in store for them? Maybe nothing. After all, they get separated. Maybe everything. After all, they get reunited.

Story
When his mother became president, Alex Claremont-Diaz was promptly cast as the American equivalent of a young royal. Handsome, charismatic, genius - his image is pure millennial-marketing gold for the White House. There's only one problem: Alex has a beef with the actual prince, Henry, across the pond. And when the tabloids get hold of a photo involving an Alex-Henry altercation, US/British relations take a turn for the worse. Heads of family, state, and other handlers devise a plan for damage control: staging a truce between the two rivals.

Jamie Goldberg is cool with volunteering for his local state senate candidate - as long as he’s behind the scenes. When it comes to speaking to strangers (or, let’s face it, speaking at all to almost anyone) Jamie’s a choke artist. There’s no way he’d ever knock on doors to ask people for their votes...until he meets Maya. Maya Rehman’s having the worst Ramadan ever. Why her mother thinks the solution to her problems is political canvassing - with some awkward dude she hardly knows - is beyond her.

Story
Contrary to popular belief, best friends Kate Garfield and Anderson Walker are not codependent. Carpooling to and from theater rehearsals? Environmentally sound and efficient. Consulting each other on every single life decision? Basic good judgment. Pining for the same guys from afar? Shared crushes are more fun anyway. But when Kate and Andy's latest long-distance crush shows up at their school, everything goes off-script. Matt Olsson is talented and sweet, and Kate likes him. She really likes him. The only problem? So does Anderson.

No narrative
So this is just a whole bunch of email conversations and there’s no narrative so it makes the story a bit hard to follow and doesn’t keep context of the characters.
But still cute. Could of been better written though.

All emails
The narrators are amazing, but the entire book is them reading emails. There are parts where they spend more time reading the details of the email (from, to, date, subject, etc) than reading the actual message in the email. The characters seem to spend a decent amount of time together (one long distance relationship and one where they live together) but there are no “in person” interactions. It would have been nice if the emails were split up with some actual character interaction from time to time.
Overall, a good quick listen for Simon fans.

Couldn’t Get Into It
Admittedly I read the original books years ago and couldn’t remember that as well as needed for this book although I really enjoyed them. This format of this was hard to enjoy. I couldn’t finish it, but I admit others might enjoy it. If you attempt it, make sure you know the back story. I recommend reading them in order and one after the other.

Cute, but...
Fan of the author, the series, etc. Had high hopes for this book, and while it was ultimately nice, I don't think it translated terribly well to audiobook. Why? Because while I could live with the fact that it was less than 3 hours long (it's a novella after all), I seriously think half that time was spent reading aloud the same email addresses over and over...and over...and over...and over. I was gobsmacked at just how much time was dedicated to reading those email addresses it was like some sort of parody.

Painful to Listen to
I want to start this review off with saying, I love all of these narrators so much, and I love the Simonverse, but the tedious reading of the from, to, date, subject part of the email was so boring!! I would hear the narrators rattle it off, and I would think ugh again? It got especially unbearable during the group email setting where the narrators would spend 30 seconds saying from, to, date, subject and then have a one word answer to the email, then back again with the reply starting with the boring details again. It was really frustrating and impossible to follow the conversations. This book gave no new character growth for the main characters, I really wish we could have gotten a longer time jump then just 1 school year. If you want to read this book, maybe opt for the text version, it would be realistically a 20 minute read without the rattling off of details of what their email addresses are.
