On the night of the school prom, a young teacher is found dead in the Thames in a drug-related accident. It seems - at first - to be another sign that Cherringham High is spiralling out of control. The new head however is convinced that the teacher's death is suspicious and quietly calls in Sarah Edwards. With her one-time detective partner, Jack Brennan, back in America, Sarah is at first reluctant to take on the case. Disappointing
The charm of the first two books is totally missing here. The characters are flat. The plot can be totally summarized in two sentences. No suspense. the narrator tries to save this book, but it is irredeemable.

Dorathy we're not in Cherringham anymore
This is the 3rd Mydworth mystery I've listened to, perhaps if I read it my review wouldn't be so low but the narration of Kat Is not getting any better and I'm afraid it's locked into his Head now that this is the way she's to be read. I can't stand the nasally, butch, weird American Voice that he does for her, She acts so tough and her husband Harry I feels very wimpy.
Love Cherringham, love what Neal and Matthew does with it, even with some of their little fo- pause, I'm along for the ride and enjoy the listen. It also helps that Neil Dudgeon is doing the narration. However, I feel these books are thrown together quickly and are basically silly. Also not a fan of this whole Suffragette vain they're going on. Kat always talking with her mouth full even in the Bronx in the 20s, I would think young women were told not to talk with their mouth full And certainly as a US diplomat. You would think by now she would have learned a little class and at least play the part now and again, a little bit of the rough edges taken off but no and of course Harry, Lord Harry finds it all endearing and never once wishing she would use a little tact. Would much rather see another full length Cherringham, novel or any Cherringham for that matter than anymore in this series, sorry to say.

Short and entertaining little read. Kat and Harry come to the aid of another Mydworth family. When young Lizzie runs away to London to make her mark, things don't turn out as expected. With her father refusing their help, Harry and Kat decide to investigate anyway. A thoroughly delightful cozy read with a couple you can't help but like. I didn't particularly like this series when it started ( I preferred Cherringham)... but as

Nathaniel Parker is a great narrator, and the stories aren't too complicated and the
situations are well drawn. More to come.

Story light, Narration makes it good
Another cozy story from Richards and Costello. The plot has a few surprises, but the suspense does not electrify your nerves. Which is exactly the purpose of their books—you can relax. Nathaniel Parker’s narration brings it to life, and through him you hear many different personalities on your mental stage. Mr. Parker deserves his 5 stars, every time.

Good fun!
I have listened to all 3 stories in this new saga now and have to say that they are definitely growing on me! Initially, I wasn't sure how I felt as I had been such a fan of the Cherringham series and the first episode of this series was very much a 'scene setter'. However, as the stories progressed, I have found that I am tuning in and appreciating the new UK/US collaboration.
The stories are well set in the late 1920s and have suitably light and predictable plots that make them suitable for non- demanding situations like drifting off to sleep or pushing on with the ironing! I really like the fact that Kit can hold her own and is no wimp! I think it could be time for Harry to show his metal though and I am hoping that will materialise in the next episodes.
Beautifully narrated by Nathaniel Parker who I have just been able to stop picturing as Inspector Lynley!
All in all, jolly good fun!
