Publisher's summary

When a prominent family's daughter flees sleepy Sussex to seek a career on the stages of a glittering West End, Harry and Kat are asked to check in on the young woman. But the two of them soon discover that there is a much bigger danger to the woman and her family than mere acting dreams being crushed.

Nathaniel Parker, born in 1962, graduated from the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art and went on to join the Royal Shakespeare Company. His television career began in 1988 when he played Flying Officer 'Flash' Gordon in the LWT mini-series "Piece of Cake". He is also the lead in the BBC series "The Inspector Lynley Mysteries", based on the novels by Elizabeth George. Nathaniel Parker has an extensive list of audio books to his credit, ranging from the classics of Charles Dickens and Thomas Hardy to more modern writings and children's books.

Always a fun read

A nice series that is fun to read and with the familiar sound of Nathaniel Parker's narration, a great way to spend a couple of hours.

LOVE IT!!!

They Mydworth and Cherringham Mysteries are quickly becoming my favorite short stories. I love the characters. I love the story lines. Some are a bit predictable, others not so much. I am always excited to start the next one. If you are looking for a quick read, or listen, these series are perfect!!!

delightful cozy read

Short and entertaining little read. Kat and Harry come to the aid of another Mydworth family. When young Lizzie runs away to London to make her mark, things don't turn out as expected. With her father refusing their help, Harry and Kat decide to investigate anyway. A thoroughly delightful cozy read with a couple you can't help but like. Smart and adventurous, never fearing to take risk, Harry and Kat are a pure delight.

Really great!

Sharp, funny, suspenseful, clever! Had me yelling at the character to "hurry up! or You're nuts!"

Echoes of the Thin Man

This book was delightfully charming as the 2 main characters so reminded me of one of my favorite movie couples- Nick and Nora Charles of the famed Thin Man movie series with their first movie debuting in 1934. The story was intriguing, amusing and thoughtful. Enjoyed it very much.
