Hard to put this book down

This was a very interesting story. I enjoyed reading from 2 different character's points of view. It was very suspenseful, trying to piece together what happened, who did it? I could barely put the book down! If you like suspense with an interesting story, then this book is a must read.

Absolutely The Best Read Of The Year

At first I wondered why oh why had the book to be so long...and then I realized with startling clarity,... it was mesmerizing me,.. spinning a web and pulling me in,.. waiting with my breath held so often during the readings of each narrator I could only shake my head in wonder after it was finished.
A tour de force..... Brava..!!

OK

The whole book is extremely slow, until the last 30 minutes when everything cool happens. It's a long wait to get to the good stuff. Overall - I liked it at the end. I almost dropped it more than a few times in the beginning. I do really like this author tho. Her other book is one of my favorites. i just wish the entire book was as great as the last part.

I couldn't get past the narration

I'm not sure which narrator it was, but the letter "s" wasssss exaggerated to the max. Every time I heard a word with the letter "s" pronunciation in it, I wanted to sssssscream! It just goessss to ssssshow that once again a poor narrator can indeed ruin an entire book. It was so bad, I just gave up. Of the hundreds of books I have accumulated in my Audible library over ssssix years, thisssss one hassssss been ssssseverely ruined by a letter and pronunciation.

Good story, awfully read.

One of the two narrators, I'm not sure which one, sounds like she needs to swallow a mouthful of saliva. It's disgusting. It's so distracting I can hardly pay attention to the passages she's reading.

Good book.

Good narrator, except I don't like it when women do men's voices and just make their voices gravelly. It always makes me picture creepy old men. The story was different and I was very engaged and would recommend reading this one.

Now this is how you do it!!!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

From the first sentence of this book I was utterly, unapologetically, totally enthralled. A couple of fabulous and extremely talented velvet voiced narrators ( both of these performers are exceptional ), a foggy and windswept coastal location, a creepy and complex backstory between two women, and all of the small town off season paranoia that you’d expect in a mystery of this sort...you can’t lose! These characters are interesting, the location is exceedingly spooky and eerie, and just scary enough with out resorting to any of the usual cheap tricks. A brilliant, well written, well paced mystery that I binge listened in a day and a half. I wish there were a million more like this one because I would buy them all. This formula works. Seaside town, England, two women, off season, it’s a perfect setup. More please!!!
