The title of this book says it all. My heart goes out to the girl who feels rejected and the adult she has to become at a young age.. I loved this book. Can't wait for the next one.

I really enjoyed this book. The vivid descriptions allowed you to get lost in the story and if you are from Chicago and you have Southern roots it's a trip down memory lane.

Caprice Banks sure has a way with words. Her colorful and detailed descriptions of the characters' thoughts and feelings were like listening to poetry. The main character, Safronia has been through some things, but with the love and support of family and friends, she's making it through. I look forward to reading what's next for this bright, bold, sassy young girl.
