Publisher's summary

From the globally bestselling author of The Witcher comes the final book in the rich historical epic, the Hussite trilogy. Join Reynevan—scoundrel, magician, possibly a fool—as he embarks on a last great adventure across the war-riddled landscape of 15th century Bohemia.

After his adventures in The Tower of Fools and Warriors of God, Reynevan is on the run again, harried by enemies—some human, and some mystical—at every turn. These are cruel and dangerous times for a man such as Reynevan, and to survive, he must set aside his history as a peaceful healer and idealist and play the brutal role of Hussite spy as crusades sweep through Silesia and the Czech Republic, and the world around him is forever changed.

Praise for the Hussite Trilogy:

“A ripping yarn delivered with world-weary wit, bursting at the seams with sex, death, magic and madness.”—Joe Abercrombie

"This is historical fantasy done right."Publishers Weekly (starred review)

“A fantastic novel that any fan of The Witcher will instantly appreciate.”The Gamer

“Sapkowski's energetic and satirical prose as well as the unconventional setting makes this a highly enjoyable historical fantasy.”—Booklist

The epic conclusion to a fantastic trilogy

First off, Peter Kenny does a fantastic job. He gives life to each character and there are hundreds of characters throughout this trilogy. He’s one of the best for audio books.
The story is also epic. Andrzej Sapkowski is a fantastic Writer. His style is addicting to listen too and he really fills out the world around the characters. He has such a realistic view when writing. Things often don’t work out, which gives every interaction and battle a feeling on not knowing what will happen next. The characters are well written and the conclusion to the series is full of highs and lows.
I highly recommend the Hussite Trilogy and the Witcher novels. David French, Andrzej Sapkowski, Peter Kenny, and all those involved worked very hard and their work payed off. These are some of the best audio books.

Peter Kenny is the G.O.A.T.

Best audiobook narrator in the industry in my humble opinion. The perfect narrator for Sapkowski as well. 100% worth the read. Just don’t expect a warm and fuzzy ending.

A lot of Slavic words Geography

Purchased this book because of how much I loved this series of the Witcher book from the same author.

Felt a little bit, overwhelmed with the amount of improperly, pronounced Slavic words I would rather they were translated or pronounced properly. Still, the production team, and the reader have done a great job.

In my personal opinion, the trilogy has devoted more than needed amount of political discussion. Without having a map in front of the eyes, it was hard to follow which group is going where.

I was hoping the main character is going to develop more his magical skills, instead, he has become a little bit fighter, little bit physician, and a little more wise.

FYI just my PERSONAL opinion

The end of an epic

An entrancing, bloody conclusion

War is hell as has been said. Whether death is by medieval weapons or computer generated bombs, its effect remains thr same. Relogious zealots also continue to destroy populations. We have learned nothing. God remainsa a useful tool for power and murder then amd now.

Reynevan has matured. He has weathered deep tragedy . Some great friends also suffer. I found the audio book impossible to put down. There were some plot points that I felt were rushed but they didn't mar the whole story.

I shall dearly miss my 15 century heroes!

Heartbreaking, yet uplifting

LP is a bittersweet conclusion to the Hussite Trilogy, and masterfully handled by the author. Peter Kenny as always knocks it out of the park with his supreme narration skills.

An incredible trek

Wow, Hussite trilogy is unlike any fantasy series I have ever read/listened to and probably ever will read/listen to. As with the first two books, I both read and listened to Light Perpetual because for me the series is too complex with detail for a casual listen. I’ve read/listened to the first two books twice and now finally, Light Perpetual did not disappoint! Why was this series ever translated into English until recently?? Maybe because it is so heavily laden with Polish/Silesian history and very specifically focused on that era … I for one think that is a huge selling point. I knew nothing about 1420’s Poland/Silesia before first cracking open Hussite trilogy earlier this year, and it is utterly fascinating. Sapkowski is a master and the historical knowledge he displays is nothing short of stunning. This series is not for the weak … Light Perpetual continues the unrelenting barrage of events, names, places, battles, knife-fights, captures, escapes, magics, spells, and ribaldry in addition to the plot itself, which is rich with detail and most importantly, along with all the gore and violence, it is downright funny. Light Perpetual may have given me the most out loud laughs of all three books which is saying a lot cuz the first two had me laughing non-stop. Sapkowski’s writing reminds me a lot of what I recall of Voltaire in college (many decades ago so it could be a bad comparison but it’s what I get from it) … like Witcher there is a huge element of brilliantly delivered farce throughout this series. But I also feel the emotional weight. This series is different from the Witcher but is also undeniably Sapkowski in style and tone. Give it a try if you are into fantasy and/or historical fiction. If you have already read the first two then you know the deal … I highly recommend diving into Light Perpetual. Re the audio, Peter Kenny is incredible. What else can I say? No one else could have read this series like him!

Enjoyed the series!

Quite a bit different from the Witcher, but very well written and narrated series. I felt character creation and development was excellent and though purposely chaotic at times, as you’d expect from a farce, things hang together well.

I enjoyed the magic system tied into religion and the use of the strife of the times in the storyline.
