About this listen

From the beloved hosts of the hit podcast I've Had It, an honest, irreverent and inspiring guide to overcoming life's unexpected challenges and finding joy, stability and humor in today's chaotic world, for fans of Big Friendship and The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck

Long before their blockbuster podcast, I’ve Had It, Jennifer Welch and Angie “Pumps” Sullivan were simply two best friends, supporting each other through the ups and downs of life. Together they’ve celebrated family milestones and cheered on professional successes, but they’ve weathered the storms together too. When Jennifer’s husband battled alcoholism and drug addiction, she turned to Angie for support. When Angie’s own marriage began to crumble, she turned to Jennifer. And crucially, through it all they’ve kept one another laughing in stitches.

For the first time, Angie and Jennifer open up about the most personal moments that shaped their worldviews, sharpened their humor and inspired the “hopeful cynicism” that underpins their I’ve Had It podcast. Using their friendship as a roadmap, Jennifer and Angie share the wisdom that got them through life’s biggest challenges and the lessons they’ve absorbed along the way. From infidelity, addiction and sobriety to economic instability, struggles with self-worth and brushes with fame, they've seen it all, and they're here to help guide listeners on their own journeys, showing us how we too can center our lives around humor, hope and connection and let go of the rest.

I love these 2 women so much. This book was so wonderful. I love them even more now. I only discovered their podcast about 4 months ago and can’t get enough of their shows. I’m a 62 year old very blue democrat woman living in the blood red state of Tennessee so I identify so much with Jen & Pumps. This book is a big 5 STARS For me! Highly recommend.

Love these ladies!!

Jen and Pumps do not disappoint! Heaing about the shit sandwiches they have both been served up is poignant and funny.

Just as good on Audible as on their podcast

I’ve so much enjoyed the “I’ve Had It Podcast” and tell all of my liberal friends here in ruby red Southeast Kansas, “These two are from Oklahoma!” I grew up in Miami, OK, class of 1966 so I’m about the age of your parents. I often wonder how those of us raised there can be this liberal, from head to toe, it’s a mystery. The book filled in so much background that I’ve wondered about from listening to your conversations, political acumen, and deadly humor. I was surprised at the amount of pain you have endured, yet here you are. And OMG, Obama! Just wow! Loved this book and will be telling my liberal ladies and family not to miss it! Keep fighting the good fight!! We love you!

Love These Two!

I appreciated the candor. I was a little surprised I learned something I hadn’t learned prior about these ladies. I’ve been listening to their podcast for years! I, too, am a blue dot in a red sea (AR). So much they talk about is so incredibly relatable! Do yourself a favor—listen to their podcast!

I had no idea what this was about nor have I ever listened to their podcast. I have clips on Instagram and related with them and thought they were humorous. Enjoyed hearing about their lives and struggles. Will definitely go watch Home Sweet Oklahoma and listen to their podcast.

Brutally honest

These women have endured so many shit sandwiches, yet persevered through it all together. A story of a friendship that I envy and appreciate. Was sad when I realized that the book was over. Thank you Jennifer and pumps for the much needed escape!

Kick ass!

The content of this book was thoughtfully reflected in every chapter heading. Angie and Jennifer did an excellent job narrating each chapter, and I appreciated how their life stories reflected who they are on their podcast. Well done, Jennifer and Angie.

Honest, Authentic, Reflective and Humorous

This book made me cry, laughed, and everything you can imagine. Specially about the trauma as us growing up as kids, and our parents have trauma and a cycle. That we have to break the cycle.

What an amazing book!
