Publisher's summary

Never borrow pants from your brother. Especially if he’s a size smaller than you are, because all that pressure in the junk will short-circuit your brain.

And you’ll lie to a woman in a club about your real name.

Leave her unsatisfied after making out in a bathroom.

Then find out that she’s the one thing standing in the way of your dreams. And she very much doesn’t like being lied to.

Now I have to convince Lila Valentine - the woman I can’t stop thinking about, my biggest regret, and my new boss - that I’m what’s best for the baseball team she’s inherited.

If we can’t work together to save the Fireballs, the commissioner’s forcing a sale and moving them across the country.

I’ll do anything to save my home team.

But the one thing I can’t do?

Keep my hands to myself.

Which would be fine, if she hadn’t been telling me lies this whole time too.

Liar, Liar, Hearts on Fire is a rocking fun romance between a single dad obsessed with baseball, an heiress with secrets, baseball pants, a rundown team, and rabid ducks. It stands alone and comes with a guaranteed happily-ever-after.

Ok rom com

This was an ok rom com. Not much romance but more about a single dad and kids. I had a hard time connecting with the main characters. A laughed a couple of times because of the performance. These two are my favorite readers. Thanks to them, I was able to finish the story. However, I used my credit for this and I am gladly returning it.

Brilliantly hilarious audible excellence!

I have been waiting for this to be available on audio and devoured it while enjoying every moment! In true Pippa Grant fashion, I was laughing, swooning, cringing, and falling in love with the characters from the beginning. Truly fresh scenarios, scenes, and characters that both adorable and interesting with multiple layers to them. Narrator performances were definitely top notch with Joe flawlessly executing the sexy dad with adorable kids like a boss! Savannah also demonstrated her range perfectly in this audible performance. This book was definitely worth a credit! I really enjoyed it entirely and plan to listen again. This is yet another example of why Pippa Grant is one of my favorite authors!

Whatever you do - don't Google "duck penis" after you read a certain scene. Just don't do it. But definitely do listen to this one!

Tripp and Lila

The trope was a good one and had some great chuckles and made me smile, the heat, and low angst, Lila was too much of a push over. Yeah she had good qualities in understanding and accepting Tripps fears but when it hits Lila, his reaction was pretty shitty, and he should have groveled alot more, before she forgave him to easily and that was my reason for taking a star. Savannah and Joe were perfect for their roles.

swoon worthy single dad❤❤❤

Wow! Love love loooove Tripp! Germaphobe, single dad, ex-boy bander, caregiver, baseball lover and did I say single dad, cuz he is hot and sexy at it! Lila didn't stand a chance against his charm! Pippa Grant has another all star hit with this book.

Both Tripp Wilson and Lila Valentine are amazing characters and that's to be expected from this author. Tripp is hot, sexy and caring while Lila is sassy, sexy and strong. There is chemistry from the beginning, even if Lila thought he was someone else. But that deception just fueled their fires even more because neither of them are afraid of a little heat. While Tripp is trying to rock the single dad look and find balance, loosing his wife unexpectedly has had lasting affects on his present and future. But where Tripp has a massive support system to help him, Lila has been battling her own painful past almost entirely alone. Now with her lone surviving family member dead and a fanily legacy left in her lap, she has no choice but to work with Tripp if she wants to stay connected to her family.

Oh the chemistry between them. I can't get over how great they are together! The banter, I love their email chains. Lila drives Tripp crazy with fast paced decisions. Tripp keeps tempting her. Their arguments are filled with sexual tension and the more his kids are involved the more she falls for them. It wouldn't be a Pippa Grant book without animals and she didn't disappoint. Love ducks taking up roost at the stadium and OMG, his kids and their critters! I loved his kids! As I said earlier he has a massive support system so that means we got to see more from past characters ❤❤❤ because the Bro Code family is always there for him and don't think Lila hasn't made friends either, Parker and Knox are back to help her out! Then there are some really great twists that I didn't expect and redemption and love and more hot single dad moments. This book is full of swoon worthy moments.

The narrators did a fabulous job of the characters. He made Tripp oh so sexy. I highly recommend this book!

Loved everything about this book

The only time that I thoroughly nursed anyone was when my children were sick. I cleaned up after my husband when he didn't make it to the toilet, but I got frustrated with how big a baby he became when he wasn't feeling good. So, I understand how freaked out Tripp got when Lila got sick but nursed his children to his detriment.

The dialog and children were hilarious. The situations held my attention throughout the entire book.

Bro Code Book 3

Book 3 in the series and we get Tripp, another Bro Code boy band member. He and Lila (who knows Knox and Parker, from some other Pippa books) clash about a baseball team he REALLY wants to buy.

This one was pretty good. Same premise as the other 2 in the series so far, just a different kind of thing that keeps them from falling at first. He is a germaphobe. He lost his first wife, and almost his youngest daughter to a very nasty case of the flu, so I get it. To a point. But it almost seems a little too much in this one.

Lila inherited the Copper Valley Fireballs, the baseball team Tripp wanted to buy so much. They are an awful team. (Cleveland Indians in the 80's anyone?) So of course, they clash. After a chance meeting in the beginning.

Joe Arden can narrate anything and I'll swoon. And Savannah Peachwood did a great job too.

Decent, just a bit much. Almost could have been a novella, to be honest. Of course, I'm going to finish the series, it's in my Kindle Unlimited library. 3.25, MAYBE 3.5.

Two of my favorite narrators!

Tripp and Lila’s enemies to lovers romance survives a case of mistaken identity, a team with the worst record in baseball, a stadium in total disrepair and a pair of horny ducks in the dugout. While this story has loads of hilarity and witty banter it’s Lila’s heartbreaking past and the broken heart Tripp lives with after the sudden death of his wife that affected me the most. As a result Tripp is a devoted germaphobe father who constantly worries and Lila lives a lonely life trusting no one with a shady uncle as her only family. I loved the baseball vibe, Tripp’s adorable young children and the steamy chemistry between him and Lila as well as the wonderful vocal narration of Joe Arden and Savannah Peachwood who are two of my favorite narrators.

Grief, Joy, Love

Tripp is one of my favorite single Dads ever. He finds just the right woman to take on him and his tribe, kids included. Maybe a little therapy for him wouldn’t have been out of place, but just about perfect. Cover model real or not is everything.

Standalone in a series

I love this book the characters are amazing the kids are cute. Definitely a romcom. Not a lot of angst. Dad is a germaphobe and kids are a mess. That narration is great! I definitely recommend this book. This is a standalone but is also in a series. Look up Pippa Grant’s website for the storyline reading order. You won’t be disappointed. 🎧 Audiobook Obsession

Such an enjoyable listen

These books are fantastic and I couldn’t recommend them any more they are funny, sweet, a good dose of angst and incredibly narrated. I love that the characters have flaws. They aren’t perfect they make mistakes many are so funny but they are also normal everyday mistakes.

This is the book you need to give you a smile if you are having a bad day.

💕💕💕 Another awesome Pippa Grant romcom 💕💕💕

Trip has serious over protective issues with regards to his children after the death of his wife and Lili has her own deep secrets. When they clash over the best way to manage a baseball team will it be possible for a relationship between them to develop as well.
Congratulations to the narrators who did an amazing job of bringing all the characters to life . Worth more than 5 stars 💕💕💕💕💕💕💕

My heart is on fire!

There are books that I like and smile through, then there are books that I love and will l spit my tea out for. This laugh out loud romance had me cracking up, enjoying the banter and loving their life! This is Tripp's story. After the death of his wife, he left the band to take care of his two kids. And that is his life. But now there is a chance for him to own the baseball team he has loved his entire life. He just has to convince the owner to sell it to him. When he meets her, he realizes she is his almost hookup in a bathroom when he was pretending to be his brother Levi. Not the best impression., but he's not going to let it stop him. Lila is just as determined to make this team a winner again. Together, they work, laugh, learn and love with crazy little kids, an overprotective uncle, supportive friends and family and a chemistry that is unmatched. Pippa Grant outdid herself with this one, starting with the name Lila Valentine! No funny business there! Thank you Pippa! This one made my day!

Narrated by Joe Arden and Savannah Peachwood, we have a professional team that we expect nothing but a good performance from. But these two outdid themselves. Comedic timing, spot on, the emotional tugs, the fantastic voices and the laugh out loud children scenes made this one of my favorite listens of the year.

5/5

This is second time I've read/listened to Liar Liar Hearts on Fire and I'd forgotten how much fun it was. And the running joke about Levi's white pants that continued in his book The Hot Mess and the Heartthrob which was just released. I forgot all the fun of this story - from Lila's Uncle Guido to Tripp's hand sanitizer addiction to seeing more of Parker and Knox (my very first Pippa Grant couple from Stud in the Stacks). Pippa Grant is a masterful storyteller whose stories can all interconnect while also standing alone in the Pippaverse. I find that I don't laugh as hard listening to these books as I do when reading them but they are, as always, a great time.

I received this audiobook for free from the author. This is my honest and voluntary review.

Loved the ebook, adored the audiobook

I read the ebook a while ago and loved it. There are so many things I loved - that we got to revisit the author's other characters from her other books, that I spent much of the book laughing and swooning because there were so many funny but sweet moments, and that there are ALWAYS funny little animals (and a Nana!) that accent the hilarity of the author, Pippa Grant's, books.

This book is what I would define as an ensemble rom-com. The couple is made up of Tripp, a former member of a boy band, Bro Code and now a widowed father of 2 adorable children, and Lila, a workaholic introvert. They have a chance meeting at a bar when Tripp goes to NYC to see about buying a baseball team, the Fireballs. Lila is also best friends with the couple of Stud in the Stacks, Parker and Knox (one of my favorites) so we get to revisit them (and swoon). Tripp lies about who he is (hence partly a reason for the name of the book) and Lila finds out when she is bequeathed the baseball team and Tripp tries to buy it from her. They both have secrets (more reasons for the name of the book) and personal fears keeping them from getting too close to another person. How will they get over these in order to reach their HEA?

The strength of this book is in the interactions between the characters. And I mean all the characters from the couple to the wacky but oh so funny Nana to their lovable, if crazy, friends to Tripp's adorable children. And, we can't forget the animals (I bet you'll never look at ducks the same way again). Everything melds beautifully into a story that has so much heart and humor.

What can I say about this narration team? Joe Arden and Savannah Peachwood are two of my favorite narrators and they did this book true justice. It is always such a great experience when a book that you loved is brought to life so well. I adored this audiobook.

The female character is painful to listen to

I love that this is connected to other Pippa Grant books that I have listened to but I struggled with the female character voice. It's so whining and slow that it detracts from the book. But nearly all of Pippa Grants female readers sound the same.
