my first ride

just bought a Harley @ age 55 ? This book gave me food for thought and what are some of the things to expect. gave me more knowledge and learning ! surely beats making mistakes and learning the hard way. thanks for the hand up Sonny. Great job couldn't put it down !

Not one of Sonnys best.

The book was good but basic. The narrator was not good at all! No person talks like this; every sentence sounded the same.

An axe to grind

Some good info provided through the book for the new rider. Covers all the basics a beginner needs to know. Throughout the book it seems like Mr. Barger is writing a commercial for Victory and taking shots at Harley Davidson every chance he gets. I've owned two Harleys in my life, put over 80k on each one. Didn't experience anywhere near the amount of problems he referred to as "common for Harleys "

Forrest Gump narrator

a good book for beginners, I didn't realize Forrest Gump was going to be the narrator.

Best book for the person considering motorcycing.

Great no non-sense book on motorcycling. Peefect for the novice and veteran riders can learn from it as well.

Great book, well written. Every new biker should listen before you start to ride street. Written by one of the greatest bikers of all time. Just get it.

A must read for new riders

I just started riding a year ago and I wish I read this book before getting a motorcycle. This book not only tells you how to ride and all that we can all find online but also how to purchase and maintain a bike. It includes traps that people should avoid when buying a motorcycle. Another reason I recommend this book is because it's written by the legendary Sonny Barger. Regardless of what other people say about him, I think Sonny represents a kind of true spirit of a motorcyclist.

Brilliant, informative book

I really enjoyed this audio book so much I listened to it twice, lots of information given on nearly every aspect of motorcycles from history to gear and safety.

Great guide for entry level riders/mechanics

Being a competent mechanic myself this was a pleasant listen. Some handy tips and info throughout even if you know your way around a bike.
A little bit of Harley bashing but I'm biased as I own one :)
