S1E17: Let the Legal Theatrics Begin

  • Summary

  • Alex Murdaugh was indicted in July 2022 on charges of murdering his wife, Maggie, and son, Paul. It didn't take long before the legal theatrics of Murdaugh's defense attorneys and the state's prosecutors were on full display.

What began amicably with defense attorney Dick Harpootlian seemingly on the same page as head prosecutor Creighton Waters, soon turned contentious and devolved into mudslinging. Harpootlian accused the state of ignoring its obligations to share evidence discovery, and even accused state prosecutors of leaking evidence to certain members of the media.
