Start to finish absolutely adorable. No drama just a great romance novel. Max Monroe does it again. Can’t wait to read her next book.

What a Ride!!

Avery, the rich party girl seemingly without a care, and Henry, the adventure company owner, are flying to an island for a quick getaway after the rest of the group back out. Through a series of events, they find themselves stranded with no way to get help. They are left to depend on each other and that leads to honest communication, thoughtful conversations, and learning there is more to each other than what they present to the world. Their time in the bubble of the two of them had humor, sweet tender moments, and spice. Their story is aided by some flashbacks to help give the full history of these two. I was so invested in these two by the time they were found, I was weepy with happiness, and I couldn’t wait to see what happened when they were back to civilization and facing real life.

Dual narration by Will Damron and M. K. Blackwood. This was my first time listening to both narrators. They were fantastic and really brought Avery and Henry to life. Their tones blended well together and delivered on the range of emotions these two went through. From Henry’s fear of failing to his humor and adoration for Avery. M. K. nailed Avery, from her humor and flighty nature she puts up for the world, to her insecurities and desire to help.

This is book two in the series but can be enjoyed as a standalone. I do think reading book one will give you a bigger appreciation for the growth Avery goes through. I was rooting for her and was all in for Avery’s redemption story and Henry helping her realize her own worth. Henry is probably one of my favorite book boyfriends now. We all deserve a Henry in our life.

Funny with lots of emotion

We first meet Avery and Henry in Meet Me At Midnight, Avery is Juni’s best friend and Beau’s sister. Their friend group was supposed to go on a getaway to an island by way of a skydive. Unfortunately, most had to cancel leaving Henry and Avery to go on their own. On their journey to the island, their pilot had a medical event and they were forced to jump early, causing them to find themselves on a deserted island with no outside contact.

Avery, known for being high maintenance and a bit of a party girl is out of her element. This experience is more Henry’s speed and he can think on his feet to help them survive with what resources they have. What he doesn’t count on is the palpable tension and the secrets that are revealed. Avery isn’t exactly who he thought she was, she’s so much more. Henry is turning out to be more than just her brother’s best friend.

Will this adventure just be a memory or could it turn into something so much more?

Crazy in Love

Cute, brothers best friend story. The Island survivor bit didn’t hit right but I pushed thru because Max Monroe never disappoint. I was right to continue reading, Avery and Henry are the cutest couple EVER! Love
