Very hard to follow

The characters were very interesting as well as their back stories. I also loved that favorite other characters played a lot in this. My issue was that more than a third of the book was constant readings of reports, letters, documents whatever, some going back hundreds of years. It was so difficult to follow what was happening now compared to the readings. I’ve always loved every book of this series going back to the original one, I even re-listened to all the Trinity books so everything was fresh in my mind. It was still so difficult, I’ve listened to over 800 audios and read over 1000 books and never had to repeat so much to try to comprehend what was happening. It did have a nice ending, and I loved that one of the main characters was disabled. As always, fantastic narration by Angela Dawe. I hope that’s she’s not concentrating on her new non-romantic books too much that’s she’s letting the books that made her famous slip.

This author is amazing

This is next to the last book and this author has not ceased to amaze me. This series reminds me of the matrix but much more detailed and alive. I love that the characters link but each story is unique its own right! I’m officially a fan!!

Captivated. Emotional. Wonderful Listen.

Nalini Singh is back with another exciting installment in the Psy-Changeling world. I’ve been a fan of the series for many years and I always look forward to a new book. This is true with Last Guard, the fifth book in the spin-off series Psy-Changeling Trinity.

This time around we focus on two Psy. The Psy are emotionless beings, but with silence gone some are waking up. I’m not a big fan of the Psy; because of this emotionless state, but this time around I enjoyed diving more into the Psy world. The author introduces use to a new designation, the anchors, which are a unique designation. We know nothing about them, but we get to explore that aspect and learning more about the virus that is affecting the Psy net.

The romance is a slow build, as expected, but it burns bright. I enjoyed Payal and Canto’s budding relationship. They were cute together even while still having spines of steel.

One of the things I really enjoyed in this installment is Canto and his disability. The Psy are known for removing those that aren’t perfect. It was a pleasant surprise to learn about him and see that his family, the Mercant’s, never saw him as less. It’s a powerful read and/or listen.

Singh’s writing is one of my favorites. She builds the world and characters bring out all the details and never skimping. The world has and still continues to blossom.

Audio: Angela Dawe continues to impress me with her voices. I was captivated from begging to end and enjoyed listening to Last Guard. The voices are distinctive and unique. The pace is consistent. I highly recommend the audiobook!

Last Guard was a compelling listen. I loved returning to the world and I look forward to the next installment. You can never go wrong with a Nalini Singh Psy-Changeling book.

Not as exciting as previous books. but still good.

We still don't know who The Architect is. Although most of us have guessed who it is at this point. That kind of irks me. The storyline is dragging a bit for me.

Nalini & Angela did it again!

There is sooo much in this audio book that I am having to listen to it over and over! Oh my, what a hardship! NOT!!! As usual, the author and the narrator do not disappoint.

I could not put this one down. I listen while I draw and I was captivated by this latest installment. I can’t wait for the next one to come out 🥰

I love all of nalini singh`s books, every addition into this series has me wanting more.

Wow the scarabs are freaky!

Payal Rao l, aka 3k, is a hub anchor, cardinal telekinetic, and silent. She has a short but nicely curvy body which isn’t quite acceptable for a psy but it’s inherently sensual. Canto Mercant had small, undiscovered spinal tumors as a child and is now a paraplegic. He is looking for the child who saved his life during a primary school incident. Canto, aka 7J, is a Cardinal Telepath and hub Anchor, also needs a hub anchor to represent the anchor union on the new psy’s ruling Coalition. He trolls the darkest shadows of the web for information for his families business. They are the top intelligence information specialty network. The Anchors are the last guards of a failing system (psy-net).
[This book mostly starts the bear Pavel and Arvin Mercant’s romance, Silver’s story has the time when they meet.]

Another incredible, complex, brilliant story!

Nalini I Singh continues the story of the Psi/Changling/Human world the way she started it, brilliantly. The characters are realistic and deep. The flaws and strengths cause the reader to feel that this is a totally plausible alternate reality. We tend to fall in love with this world.
I find myself staring into the faces of the wild bears who visit my home in the mountains, looking for the shifter bears of Nalini Singh's world. Maybe some day?

WOW - just WOW

This continuation of PsyChangling/Trinity is awesome! I love it! I couldn’t stop listening and as usual Angela did a fabulous job as the narrator- brought the story to life in my head. Thank you Nalini!!!!!!!
