It is part of a series and does end on a cliffhanger. Fans of Sarah J. Maas, Jennifer L. Armentrout, and Raven Kennedy will fall in love with this series.

Loved it !

Absolutely love this story. I wish audible would keep up with having an entire series available to listen to. It’s really hard when there is only one or two books in a five book series available. I have been an audible user for over 10 years. In the beginning they had more completed series available to listen to lately. It is more of the one or two only please do better.

Great but room for potential.

I like the book, sure it has its moments where you want the main character to rally her mind and move on, but critically thinking from a perspective that she is in fact a person whose been through trauma, dealt with others trauma, and had to endure more than others its kind of relatable. The world building is great, the fantastical background hinged with magic and races and a historical foundation of the realm is an added bonus. Although I am probably a low percentage of my kind that read this stuff. I see mostly woman read these kinds of books, but a straight married man can become interested in romance too.

Great start for my next series

If you’re a fan of ACOTAR and Fourth Wing then this is right up your alley!! Laura does an amazing job narrating- she just pulls you right in and you can’t stop listening! I can’t wait for book two!!

So Amazing!!

This book was so good! I was entertained the whole time. The narrator was up amazing. It was so entertaining to listen to the story and also read along on the Kindle Unlimited. This was one of the best fantasy romance enemies to lovers vibes, type of book that I have read in a long time with a strong, female character, who is an assassin Type girly. This book gets five stars from me hands-down!

filled a void!

I have been looking for a book series that hooked me in since going through all of Sarah j Maas and finally found one! I couldn't stop listening and am hooked! narrator did fantastic amd looking forward to continuing this series!

SJM Fans will love

I saw a review before I purchased this book and they were right. If you’re a SJM fan, you will love this book. Scarlett is a mix of Aelin and Feyre.
I enjoyed the story, I loved the voice actor, and I’m excited to get the next book.

Truly the best introduction to this amazing series. Scarlett’s journey is a different and beautiful one and going through it with her is such an honor and an awakening to the hidden parts of one’s self. Don’t let the stars go out✨🤍

I’m quite sensitive, and this book had some parts that were very hard for me to get through. But I read it regardless because I was captivated, loved the characters and was just entranced in the story and had to see it through.

An intriguing plot

This kept me engaged & interested in book 2. I got a bit sick of the FMC sometimes - despite learning her backstory.

It was so good, it was very well written and all the characters were fairly well rounded, they all had some form of flaw. the world building was also great. can't wait for the next one
