Great Book to Kill Some Time

This book is a great way to kill time. These short stories were quite imaginative, and I didn’t find one I didn’t enjoy. Usually collections span a spectrum of quality and this one to me was all top notch stories. I really enjoyed the overall diversity of the stories. Not only were they diverse, they were unique and not like the typical short stories I come across in collections. I also really liked how the length of each story varied. Just another point to iterate how different each was and how all of it added to a unique listening experience.

No matter what the length of the story was, I felt like I got a complete plot that told a deliberate story with a detailed setting to put you right there with the characters. Each individual plot was a roller coaster of emotions. I think they were all the perfect length for what they were and I wouldn’t have wanted them any longer.

I felt like the character development was sufficient to connect me to the protagonists and antagonists. Overall, I think it was the style of each story that really worked for me. I loved how the sentences were crafted and especially all the little detail that was put into everything. The descriptions of the characters and the background provided for them popped out to me much more then typical short stories.

C.J. Grey did a great job narrating these stories. I loved his different character voices and emotion he put in to each one. His change in voice of Ronnie when his nose was broken really added to the narration. First time listening to Grey, hopefully won’t be the last.

Great way to kill time on the way to work.

I really enjoyed these short stories, although the first one is longer than I anticipated. I found myself extremely anxious, but it was an amazing novella! "Outside the Lines" is the first and takes up probably half of the book, but it is definitely well worth it. I would actually love to see a longer story with these characters and will likely listen again. The other stories were good, a couple I could take or leave, but others are really good. My favorite was the musical talent story towards the end. My first by this author but not my last. I received a free review copy of this book at my request and I have voluntarily left this review.

Interesting Collection of Stories

This collection was a super interesting listen of various stories that don't neatly fit into a specific category except there is a loose grouping based on the element of time. It starts with a long (~4 hour) novella with some of the most imaginative and horrific events that I've had the joy of listening to. It'll definitely change the way you feel about the characters several times and is very entertaining. The short stories obviously are less expansive but still pack an emotional gut punch in some cases to just an uneasy twilight zone-y feeling in the back of your mind. The other novella was very imaginative as well in a different way. What is in common throughout is that there are a lot of people you can empathize going through stuff you'd never want to, and you're rooting for them even though you know that's a losing proposition most of the time in genres like this. It makes it all the better when they win, and hit pretty hard when they don't.

The narrator did a great job of bringing life to such a varied array of stories. I received the review code for this audiobook at my request and am voluntarily leaving this honest review.

Entertaining collection

This is a really interesting and suspenseful collection of stories. The first story is half the book, but it grabbed me and wouldn't let me put it down. The rest are really short, but entertaining. I really enjoyed them all.

At my request, I received this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

Great collection of stories!

This was a great collection of horror stories! The very first story was my favorite. It had a very twilight zone feel to it. A wonderful mix of horror and sci-fi with some thrilling suspense for a kicker.

The other stories were good as well. Little bites of scary and gory to make make a great collection to listen to!

Over all four stars for me. Great narration. Easy to listen to. Good emotions and flow.

Great collection of weird and wonderful tales

I am a big fan of compilation audiobooks as they are great to listen to in bite size chunks. My aim was to listen to one story a night but I found that I couldn't turn the book off and listened to multiple tales. The cover drew me on from the start and intrigued me to give the book a go. The narrator was an absolutely perfect choice to portray these well written tales with each one having standalone merit. I was on the edge of the seat and was sorry when the book had ended . I was given this book by the author/narrator in return for an honest and unbiased review

Fun and Interesting

C.J. has a wonderful voice for this genre, it really stands out and makes the story seem real. This book is a range of short stories, each different and engaging. They build up the world in such an intuitive fashion and really draws the readers in until they can think of nothing else.
