And he’s about to become my husband.

Our families have been at war with one another ever since I can remember.

enemy to lovers

A lie, a betrayal, steamy sex. A contracted marriage between two families that have been at war. Will this marriage stop the war between both families?
Luca and Verona childhood friends, until he found out she was the enemy.
A mafia enemy to lovers story at it's best.
Vincent Skye And Cecily Foster performance is very well.done. I enjoyed listening to this story.

Dark-ish, Mafia definitely

Luca and Verona start out as childhood friends, but family disputes put them at odds and ruins their friendship. When both of the patriarchs of the families pass, they have it written in their wills that the two of them are to marry one another. Luca hates Verona and she is upset because she doesn’t know him and all she remembers of him is how hateful he was when they were younger. Their love stories wind up being quite wonderful, but the mafia world and those around them seem to be on a mission to tear them apart. Will they be able to salvage the interruption of others or will they wind up apart? Must read to find out. This is book 1 in the series, but the next two will be about their children, which is just as exciting!

The story is not as dark romance, as it is just enemies to lovers who wind up together. The narrators did a wonderful job adding some spunk to their characters and I have learned that I love almost anything Cecily narrates. Vincent was a wonderful Luca as well, would love to hear more of his narrations.

Great narration

This is my first book by Angela and it was so good. A well told alpha male, enemies to lovers, dark, great chemistry and characters. #The FlockonTour

Can't wait for the next one ...

This is a fun, quick listen, perfect for spicing up a work day. Overall, well-written and plotted. Though I did predict every single little detail, I had a good time hearing it play out still.

Enjoyed

This was my first listen of this author and I liked the story and writing enough that I definitely will be checking out more from their catalog. The storyline is hard to be new and refreshing when mafia stories have a lot of the similar story lines but this one was done well so I had no complaints that I saw all the twists coming easily. I will say I don’t know if this story will stick with me for awhile, just because it was done a lot already but I enjoyed the listen and would recommend it!

I thought Benny was my favorite and hope he has a love story at some point (I have no idea about the author’s back catalog yet so maybe he already does haha). I thought he made some funny moments, esp with calling out Luca for his behavior haha. Luca had a lot of growing up to do, despite him being a lot older than Verona. She definitely had the TSTL complex going on sometimes but I liked her anyway. I appreciated her not going on shopping sprees, her gift for Luca was adorable and his reaction once he opened up was priceless haha. I would have been blinded like she was with how things happened. She tried to look for the good in people despite her upbringing and who her family was. One thing I wished happened in the epilogue was Verona’s dad finding out what happened to Verona and Luca’s mothers and they officially ended the war between their families. Unless that happens in one of the other books in the series. OH and based on the next book, the one guy I thought got away in this one finally will get some karmic justice. I can’t wait to listen!

Narration was good, I really enjoy the female narrator in pretty much anything she does. The male narrator sometimes is too OTT for me, but he overall does a good job with the rollercoaster ride Luca gives Verona haha. I thought the emotions were done well, with how Luca was humbled by Verona not being what he thought, when Verona accidentally messed up the dishwasher, when Luca couldnt keep himself in control once he got a taste of Verona. Helped paint a good picture with the story ❤️

Dark Mafia Romance!

This is the first book in the Keeping What's Mine Series, dark mafia arranged-marriage romance. Luca and Verona's story is passionate, filled with angst, secrets, misunderstandings, danger, and twists and turns. Luca is enigmatic, and powerful. Verona is beautiful, sunshine, and strong. They are opposites attract. The storyline is intriguing and captivating. Cecily Foster and Vincent Skye did a great job bringing this story to life. I enjoyed it. Looking forward to listening to Keeping My Girl, the next book in the series. #PFPAudio

Emotional and unexpected

Verona and Luca’s relationship is a giant mess of misunderstandings, apprehension, secrets and dark simmering passion. This isn't just an arranged marriage mafia romance, its a second chance at a childhood friendship that was lost in the entangled web of secrets between their 2 families. Its emotional, angsty, passionate and eventually very gratifying. Tugged at all my heart strings. Great narration of Cecily Foster and Vincent Skye. Cecily made me tear up a few times. Great listen!

Great performance & Story

This was a new to me author amd I was not disappointed. Great story line. Loved the dual POV. You can never judge a book by it's cover as Luca found out about Verona.

If you love mafia arranged marriage, give this a try.

The premise of this story sounded so appealing to me but I just could not get over how “tropey” it felt for a mafia romance. I did not care for the characters at all.

The narrators did an excellent job of narrating the story, I just wish I liked the plot more.

Totally Enjoyable

This was another great book with a sweet, innocent girl in on mafia family, being forced to marry into another family. A family who hates her family. And her husband is even less thrilled by the idea. He starts out as a real charmer, jumping to conclusions way faster than he should. But thats all the dets I will give out for now. Its a great, entertaining book. I finished it in less than a day. My only problem with this book is that I feel like I have read the same Mafia story again and again. And this one had less originality than most. Doesn't mean it wasn't a fun and enjoyable story. The narrators did a great job and definitely added to the story. Especially the guy, The grrr in his voice, very sexy. (That's part of why I married my Italian jerkface of a husband, totally not a good enough reason if ya ask me now, lol). If you like these Mafia wife type books, you will enjoy this one. Are there better out there, sure. But this is pretty good too.
