wonderful book

I love this story. well written. Great narrative. I wish love could really be that way.

Not a bad listen...

My thought on this story and author. This was my second book that I've listened and this series. The first one was okay. I got this one bc of the first book and I wanted to see if it would improve. Well...kind of. I also thought this one will have the MCs from the first.. As a reader/lister, I was waiting for that. After all, this was a series. The writing was okay but lacked character and story development. The ending was so abrupt. It was like the author got tired of writing the H to stay away from the h. As usual, the h was too forgiving. to the H. Also, I had a hard time connecting with the main characters since they kept going back and forth. I love strong h but didn't feel with this one. She was actually sad all the time because she was morning for the H. Ugh! Not sure why romance authors LOVE to create weak h. HEA was nice but didn't make up for the whole story. Black Lockhart is also one of my favorite readers and this was my main reason that I got this. I still enjoyed his performance. Please don't let my opinion deter you from purchasing.

LOVABLE COUPLE

Just Pretending was a good story with a lovable H/H. I liked that for the most part the story was centered on the couple. The Audible Narration was Excellent!

I think she was too clingy. No matter how he pushed her away, she still hung on like a doormat waiting to be dusted again. Just let go, don't hold on to someone who doesn't want you. If he didn't learn about the baby, you would still be in the woods eating raw, uncooked food. Furthermore he thought it wasn't his child too. So much for love.

Adorable story line but…

The story line and couple were great. At times the story felt rushed. Harleigh was immature and didn’t have growth throughout the story. I liked it but didn’t love it.

Disappointed

We never found out who took the pictures. Never determined why the assistant felt it was ok to block his wife’s phone number. Sooo many unanswered questions

Ugh

Eye rolling and overwhelmingly sad. The whole book. The FMC has about 1 happy day (her wedding day). It’s ridiculous and I wanted to stop listening! Ugh! Just so gut wrenching. The brooding MMC was over the top. I’ve never even heard mafia/Bratva books this depressing! Sheesh, no character progression for the MMC except that he devolves, I think the FMC does too (from optimistic about her future to acceptance that this is her life now.) Thank goodness it’s over! Ugh!
