character development was great. The narrator did a great job with giving personality and life to the characters.

It felt like portions of the story, like intimacy and confrontations, were awkward and amateurish. Repetitive use of simple words and phrases. Most of the story was predictable, even if unrealistic.

Too short.

All white it was a good story, it did feel extremely short “yes I understand it’s a novella” . The story felt like it was lacking more confrontation, problem solving, character growth, relationship growth both with the mc’s and with the town. It’s far too open ended. No one knows what’s really going on in the world. This could have easily stretched another few books to work through all of this. It just ends so abruptly.
