Publisher's summary

In this classic romance from New York Times bestselling author Nora Roberts, one woman will discover that love has the power to overcome all barriers.

Erin McKinnon had followed her cousin Adelia to America and was immediately captivated by Royal Meadows's charm.

But she was not nearly as impressed with Burke Logan, owner of the neighboring property. A womanizing, cigar-smoking gambler, he was exactly the type of man her mind told her to stay away from. The heart has never been very practical, though....

Love the book, not the narrator!

Great story by Nora Roberts; you'll enjoy it a lot more if you read it yourself rather than listening to Amy Rubinate read it to you. She just tries way too hard. Voice inflections in all the wrong places. She should try a different line of work. Would have submitted this review with no stars for performance if the application allowed.

worst narrator ever.

I usually get used to the narrator even if i don't love them, but this woman was horrible. The accents were awful, the weird ends of her sentences and how she drew them out, the terrible voice of the main male character all contributed. This sorry was pretty terrible too.

Needs a different narrator.

I'm sure it's a great story-- Ms Roberts' stories always are, but i just could NOT listen to this narrator. Awful awful awful.

2 thumbs up

Very good book, Nora Roberts did a good job tying in the first book. Plus horse themed which makes it even more amazing.

Why not male and female performers together?

I basically liked the story and I know it's conventional to have one reader, but I think that at least a male and a female reader would serve a romance better.

The narrator is awful.

Every sentence sounds exactly the same. It's repetitious and worse than boring. She's annoying. Her accent OR attempt at accent is nauseating. Ketchup and she ruins this story.

Irish rose

Great story, narrator is very well versed in Irish brogue, and her accents are spot on.

This story line was great. The reader is a little hard to get use to.

Surprisingly good

I wasn’t keen on the book in the start and the readers voice was getting to me but as the characters were getting more vocal the readers voice was awesome. I loved it and it was really exciting towards the end.
