Publisher's summary

Kenny wakes to what he thinks is just another day, but nothing could be further from the truth. Radio commentators speak about people biting and ripping each other apart, but even then he doesn’t want to believe what he hears. At least not until he witnesses it firsthand. Seeing the barman getting quartered by a mob of raving madmen, he runs and hides in a hardware store. Momentary safety turns into horror when he realizes that his wife and family are still out there, alone and unprotected. It will be up to him and his friends to save those dearest to them and seek shelter in a faraway farmhouse he knows could provide them with a safe haven. But never has a plan survived with the first contact, and neither does his.

Really?! Zombies in Scotland - love it!

Wasn’t really sure what to expect. The cover caused me to buy this one. It’s a great cover. It was a really fun zombie story - intentionally cheesy I think, but lots of blood and guts. Small group friends pull together in this fun little Scottish zombie tale - as the world turns into a nightmare right before their eyes. No crazy complex military tactics, no preppers, just ordinary people like us - who show some guts and bravery. Oh - lots of swearing in the Scottish tradition. I’m going to be following Steven Kenny - he’s a fun writer. Archer really narrates this well, and in a very entertaining way. Yep - I do recommend this one!

Gets right to it! Fast Paced, Likable Characters

Left this genre for a while but came back to it when I found this little Zombie Story. Gets to the action very early on and doesn't let up. Likable cast of characters (B.C. Archer does well with them) and unique setting and culture. Really liked it - though it was quite silly at times... but I think that's on purpose. Overall - fun - and will Look for more from Steven Kenny and will definitely continue with this series. Good Audiobook.

Lots of gory Zombie action - Doesn’t take itself too Seriously

Loved loved loved it! Almost cheesy - but it’s intentional - so it’s fun. Love that! Based in a small Scottish town with great cast of characters. Non-Stop action from chapter 1 all the way to the end. No complex military tactics or uptight prepper guys. This cast is just a group of ordinary buddies and their gals or small families - with guts, and take no crap attitudes. Love that it’s a series. Great storytelling!! I really recommend this audiobook for some great zombie fun!

Amusing take on the zombie apocolyspe

This is my first experience with this Author. All in all I give it 4 stars because it was amusing. Kenny wakes up and there are zombies. He quickly goes about gathering his family and friends, taking over a farm house and starts gathering supplies. This was the easiest supply run I have ever heard. No store owners stopping them, just a few bad guys that try to take what they have and zombies that don't seem too menacing in small groups. The best part was when he hit the hospital to stock up on pills, and there are still people alive running from zombies. Everyone knows the hospital would be the first place that is overrun but Kenny waltzes right in and even gets directions to the pharmacy. While on the way there, he and his new pal Jake stop fr a bite to eat in the canteen. lol I do recommend this audible as B.C. Archer does a fine job with it. Spoiler alert: There are snails :)

Not for me...

I'm really trying to push through. I can tell the story is supposed to take place in a country other then America because of some of the words the author uses, but the narrator doesn't do accents well. The story flies through with very little character development.
