Publisher's summary

In Dianne Duvall's world of Immortal Guardians, the stakes for mortals are high, but the cost - especially to the heart - might be higher....

It's not the first time Immortal Guardian Richart d'Alençon has saved a human life from eternal damnation. Usually, he moves on, a nameless savior like a ghost in the night. But this time he can't seem to forget the woman who rewarded him with a sensuous kiss after he rescued her from a trio of vampires. While Richart knows that loving a human can only bring trouble, the taste of forbidden lust is too great to resist....

Jenna never imagined she'd end up a single mom working overtime to put her son through school. But she might have daydreamed once that a devastatingly gorgeous Frenchman would sweep her off her feet. Now that a package of tall, dark, and handsome seems intent on doing just that, doctors are telling her she may not have long to live. But Richart is telling her just the opposite. All she has to do is abandon her humanity....

Contains mature themes.

Bad narrator

I'm happy to see Richart get his own book without having to purchase the variety bundle that I wasn't interested in.

The story, though a short novella, would be lacking for those that haven't read the entire series. Bulks of the main story is missing because it's in the rest of the books.

As for the narrator- bad bad bad. Most people can do an accent. Most people would attempt to do research in the characters from the previous books. Hearing the other IGs without their proper accent is just wrong. Kirsten Potter narrated the rest of the series and is absolutely amazing. Except for her sex scenes- those are borderline cheesy porn with a bad siren's voice. I would still rather have that than this debacle of a performance.

narrator ruined book

I've enjoyed most of this series, and have them in both audio and eBook. What a difference a voice makes. I enjoyed Richart's story and the way it filled in blanks and fit between the full length novels so beautifully. Kirsten Potter does such a wonderful job with the other books, it's a shame Arika Rapson read this and ruined it for me. I will definitely read this one instead of listening to it.

Good Short Novella

I'm always happy to read about the immortal guardians. idk why you would use a different narrator? 😕 I stopped listening several times because I found it so difficult to follow along when Richart sounded so different from what I've heard for 10 books! Kristen Potter is excellent! keep using her!

Couldn’t finish

The story is sweet and I love Richard, but the narrator is just AWFUL. I just couldn’t listen to it. This book needs to be re-recorded by Kirsten Potter. Should come with a big red warning sign: NOT NARRATED BY KIRSTEN POTTER!

Narration

I agree with the previous reviews the narrator should remain the same the book felt off because of a different reader.

Adorable story

The only bummer about this book is Kirsten Potter didn’t narrate. Richart’s story is adorable but the narrator makes me appreciate Kirsten so much more than I already do

Love this author, narrator not so much.

As always, Dianne Duvall is a phenomenal writer and storyteller. A twin finds his forever love, what can be any better than that? Richart and Jenna's story is adorable and cute, just the right amount of angst to keep the reader/ listener in the author's clutches. While this story is short, be sure to know there is more about these two, as well as the other characters as the series continues, plus many new and exciting adventures await!
The only downfall I had was the narrator. While she is decent in other books, she lacked so much for what this series has to offer and maybe should've done a little more research on name pronunciations, other characters accents, and tone of voice. It would've been best if the publishing house collaborated with the author on her style of a narrator, because let's just say it, when a series is all constructed with one narrator in mind, it disappoints the listeners to hear someone else quash a fantastic book.

Story was predictable

The story line was predictable considering where the rest of the series has gone. I do not understand why the switch in the narrator. Arika Rapson was fine but it did make it less enjoyable.

Keeps getting better!

The only complaint I have against this particular story is the narrator . She is truly horrible , sounding more like a computer than a human.
