Publisher's summary

My name is Dove Hendry.

Mine is Kingston Axton.

I was captured by darkness.

She has always been ours....

They groomed me for Midnight Mayhem. Like a trained possession, weak against their control.

She has been conditioned with our blood for years. She just doesn’t know it yet....

But Midnight Mayhem was the stained glass that concealed a very dark culture.

A culture that she is about to become the center of.

The Brothers of Kiznitch come in fours, and they’re not happy about me being hustled into their acts.

Or are we? Careful, Little Bird. A warning is a warning for a reason....

Mind-tricks.

Stunts.

Deceit.

Power.

But there’s something uglier that has been haunting me for years upon years. So ugly that I have never seen its face. I never had to. I’d hear his whispers through my internal screams, feel his shadow brush against my nightmares. He was my monster that tormented me.

And maybe lived under your bed....

When I started Midnight Mayhem, his presence faded.

His whispers were silenced.

His shadow dissolving without a trace.

I wondered why that was.

She didn’t have to wonder for long....

A dark romantic suspense!

What first drew me to this book was the absurd cover art. And I'm so glad I judged a book by it's cover this time round.

This is the first book in Midnight Mayhem series and I'm looking forward to listening to whatever follows

The storyline was dark, intense and compelling.

In a nutshell this was sinfully addictive.

A Wild & Twisted Ride! Amazing Story & Narration🎧

Amo Jones blows my mind with another dark and twisted romantic suspense novel, the first in her new Midnight Mayhem series. The author takes you on a wild and crazy ride and her story not only grabbed my attention right from the start, but it got my adrenaline pumping, too. The layers and complexity of the story are phenomenal, as is the world building and character development. Dove Noctem Hendry was a young girl when her life was forever changed, orphaned and sent to foster care with limited memories of who she was and when she aged out of the system, she upped and left to start another life. There was always a haunting presence in her life, which she named the shadow. Once again, she is uprooted from the life she was living in Miami, captured, held against her will and then forced into a life not of her choosing. They bring her in to a whole new world, the Midnight Mayhem, mayhem at its best, jaw dropping and provocative live acts and performances that will wow the pants off of you. And then there are the ones who run this world and the brothers of Kiznitch, King, Killian, Kyrin, and Keaton, the lead acts and the future ring leaders, holy moly, talk about dark and twisted and King has it in for Dove. The chemistry between them is explosive and as much as he wants to not want her, he can not help himself. This drama filled, cleverly plotted, is full of twists and turns, mystery, thrilling suspense, heartfelt emotions and some hot romance. Amo Jones, thank you for another amazing story and the wild and emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧📚🎧 And for the fabulous narration, Maeve York and Rip Devons are talented narrators and versatile voice artists. They did a great job bringing the characters and their story to life and portrayed them with a complete understanding of who they were, gave each a voice that fit the character’s persona to a tee, sounding believable and just like I pictured them to sound. They set the perfect tone for the story, captured all the characters’ emotions and projected them into their performance and had you feeling every single one. These entertaining storytellers were a pleasure to listen to and their narration enhanced an already amazing story to another level. Thank you for this great listen.

Whoa! A new favorite.

This was excellent. I was lost in the audiobook, so glad I was on a long trip. I loved the storyline. And the world Amos created...whoa. It was entrancing.

"Welcome to Midnight Mayhem. We are not a circus, we are not a carnival, and the only thing that you should be afraid of losing tonight, is your sanity."

Yikes! I LOVED IT. I wanted to be there. Midnight Mayham was mysterious, fun, and steamy. I'm so invested in the characters. So. Much. Happened. King and Dove. I couldn't quit guessing what would happen. The twists and turns kept me riveted to the book. I couldn't quit listening. I did not want it to be over. I'm already ready to relisten!

Rip Devons and Maeve York are excellent narrators. Their voices were perfectly cast. Their performance was perfection. They brought this book to life.

Great story

I loved the story so much. The female narrator was amazing. I didn’t care for the male narration at all. I would definitely recommend this book to people for the story and female narrator but it would come with a warning that the male narrator sounds whiny and nasally.

Blown away!

This was my first listen to any books from this author and it certainly won't be the last! I was utterly blown away by this story and how dark but deep this storyline was. I was hooked and I couldn't concentrate on anything else because I wanted, no needed, to get back to the storyline and figure things out. So much mystery in this first standalone in the series.

I really like "Little Bird" and her arc in In Peace Lies Havoc. She came into her own with the Midnight Mayhem group, loved visually how the performances were described (easy to picture in my head!), loved the back and forth with the guys and some of the girls. I liked that she found friends where she could (so unhinged ones and some who created some really funny moments). Loved how you couldn't tell when someone was lying/acting or going to unleash on someone randomly haha. Really kept you on your toes to see who was loyal and who ended up being disowned, and who was just plain crazy!

I did want to shake King a ton of times but once you find out why he is the way he is, you can kinda understand. Still doesn't excuse him for treating Dove that way for the majority of the book. It took awhile for his walls to be cracked and breached and that was cool to see when Dove was able to penetrate through all the bs and stuff. The boys' relationship was confusing at times but it made sense by the end of book sorta. So many more hidden secrets to get answered in the next couple standalone romances in this series. I really was intrigued by the side characters (some will get their own story so I am super excited for all of that!!) because they all have gone through something, so they all have a sort of backbone/tenacity, but they are all so different ,

The plot is amazing too, like I thought I had an inkling for something but most of my theories were 100$ wrong haha. I thought the author did a phenomenal job weaving this story and giving us all we could ever ask for in a dark romance. Be ready for the feels and the disgust at some of the behavior and word choices (a lot done by the MMC). 5/5 highly recommend ❤️❤️❤️

Quick comment regarding the narration - new narrators to me and I thought they did a good job! I listen at 1.5X and I had no issues with their pacing or performances. I think Maeve did a really great rendition with all the up and down emotions she had to quickly go through. Especially how she had to go from deathly afraid to angry to fiesta/standing up for herself. Rip did a good job too, no constructive feedback from me. Would definitely listen to these narrators again!

Amo has always been one of my fave authors since i first discovered her writing with the silver swan and since then I’ve devoured all her books!

This one is no different from the moment i started i was totally engrossed and couldn’t put it down! Midnight Mayhem was first introduced in Manik and i love the fact that there are some Manik references in this book! Totally felt giddy while reading those lol

Omg i about died at the mention on Nate, Bishop and Brantley!!!! Eekkk seriously this book is going amazing!
Lmfao Amo roasting herself in this book is literally GOLD 🤣

OMG! BOOK HANGOVER!!!
Seriously Amo has wowed me again! This book was so much better than i was expecting! The twists and turns had me mindblown as usual cuz Amo definitely wins at the mindgames!

Seriously if you guys haven’t read this yet then you should! The Brothers of Kiznitch definitely deserves 5 Mayhem stars!
And i highly recommend this book!

Another Wild Ride from Amo

5/5 ⭐
3/5 🌶️
3/5 🎧

Another absolutely wild fracking ride from Amo. I really loved the setting for this series, Midnight Mayhem is chaotic depravity in the best possible way and I loved every moment. Kingston and Dove were fascinating characters, as were the rest of the MM cast. And the storyline was mysterious, dark and extra twisty, just like I expect from our Dark Romance Mommy.

The audio was good, nothing spectacular, but I enjoyed listening to it. Rip Devons took some getting used to for me, but once I did I liked him. Maeve is great at female voices, but I don't love love her male ones. All in all a great listen, especially given the story.

I loved Dove's story and how she persevered after her tragedy. She was so strong, pulling herself up and keep moving forward even as she is haunted by a mysterious man she calls The Shadow. When she is finally taken by Midnight Mayhem, we meet Kingston and The Sons of Kiznitch. King is mysterious and full of hate toward Dove, but the angst, the chemistry and the push and pull are so incredibly hot. I couldn't get enough of these two.

Midnight Mayhem was nothing like I expected. Knowing she's a dancer, I was thinking cirque du soleil or something similar, but MM is basically a thrills circus. It's death defying acts followed with spicy releases in a final act. I had so much fun bringing Amo's words to life in my head, imagining the cages and knives and everything in between.

I always expect twists with Amo, but there was no way I could have prepared myself for this one. It was so, so good. I love how it all came together and how we got to see the future of the MM couples shape up. I'm really excited to get started on In Fury Lies Mischief and Killian + Saskia's story.

Dark & twisty

This was a dark, twisty read that managed to both oppress and empower the female lead all at the same time. I was impressed by the author’s ability to show this through her masterful writing. It was also gripping, dark, dangerous, hot, mysterious and despite all those qualities, made me laugh out loud more than once.
Based on this read, I 100% will be seeking more from this author.

4 stars.
