Publisher's summary

Have you ever thought to yourself, "I think I might have a thyroid problem. I'm tired all the time, no matter how much I exercise, I can't seem to lose weight, my hair's falling out, and overall I just feel blah." If so, it is essential that you explore the very real possibility that indeed, you do have hypothyroidism.

In Hypothyroidism, Health & Happiness, Dr. Steven Hotze reveals how commonly hypothyroidism is overlooked, misdiagnosed, and mistreated in women and men, and gives you just the information you need to prepare yourself to obtain help. Too often, individuals with all the signs of low thyroid are prevented from accessing the simple, inexpensive and effective treatment for hypothyroidism. Instead, they are told their blood work is "normal." Find out why they owe it to themselves to believe what their bodies are telling them, rather than the results of their blood tests.

Dr. Hotze has been on a mission to get this message into the hands of women and men, particularly those in midlife, for more than 20 years. The answers you will find in this audiobook about the signs, symptoms and treatment of low thyroid conditions are no longer a part of the conventional medical approach to hypothyroidism.

Inside, you will learn:

  • The historical basis for identifying and treating hypothyroidism.
  • Underlying causes of hypothyroidism.
  • Clinical signs and symptoms that may mean you have hypothyroidism.
  • The little-used thyroid blood test that identifies thyroid disorders in spite of a "normal" TSH.
  • Other individuals just like you who are now healthy, well, and thriving.
  • Simple at-home test you can do as a starting point towards discovering if you have low thyroid.
  • And more!

Dr. Hotze has a saying, "If you are sick and tired of being sick and tired, then you owe it to yourself to take charge of your health and get your life back." By arming yourself with the information in this audiobook you can take the first step towards restoring your health, transforming your life and improving your world.

Awesome Information About Health in General

Where does Hypothyroidism, Health & Happiness rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Top of the list!!! I've read a lot of books on health and this is definitely one of the very best I've ever read. The information presented here has opened up everything for me and connected all the dots. Mind blown!

What was one of the most memorable moments of Hypothyroidism, Health & Happiness?

How all the hormones are connected and how they have everything to do with the proper functioning of the thyroid. Also, how the thyroid impacts each and every part of the body and all the body functions. The information is detailed and makes a lot of sense and connects the dots in such an eloquent way that anyone can understand this - until now - mysterious dance.

A must read for anyone who wants to stay healthy!

very logical presentation, it makes sense!

Would you listen to Hypothyroidism, Health & Happiness again? Why?

Yes. Good information, explained in a simplified and logical manner.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Hypothyroidism, Health & Happiness?

There were several examples of patients who clearly displayed symptoms of hypothyroidism who were misdiagnosed or brushed off as depressed. It's shameful to the medical profession! The good news is that there are still physicians who truly listen to their patients and can make a more accurate assessment of what is going on.

What does Ralph Byers bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

He has an expressive reading voice that really brings the point home.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Many examples of overlooking a simple diagnosis, and when finally diagnosed properly, the turnaround was usually fairly rapid and almost miraculous!

Any additional comments?

A great read with a lot of good information. Anyone with a family history of hypothyroidism or any of it's symptoms should read this book!

Nothing new here

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

From the audio sample, this book sounded promising, so I purchased it. However, by the time you get through the first few chapters, you hear the same general statements repeated over and over and over again. No groundbreaking information here either -- I didn't learn anything new. Just a big waste of time. The bad guys (conventional medicine) vs. the good guys (this doctor's clinic). Very disappointing. I tried to return it but it's "not eligible for return". Thanks, Audible...

Has Hypothyroidism, Health & Happiness turned you off from other books in this genre?

Yes. In fact, this seems a common problem with a lot of audio books in this genre.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Hypothyroidism, Health & Happiness?

Bloated content -- endless repeating of the same general statements. We got it the first 30 times!
