Publisher's Summary

All shifters are evil...so how can I crave one?

Shifter blood may run through my veins, but I’ve done everything I can to keep my human half in control. As a member of the human resistance I need to fight the evil inside me...and to stamp it out of the world. But when Mikel crosses my path he makes my senses go haywire and has me questioning everything I’ve ever known.

He’s the enemy, but I yearn for him. And with every deft touch and soft kiss I need to remind myself that shifters are master manipulators who will do anything to get their way. He calls me his mate, but I can’t give in.

Not when he kisses me. Not when he holds me. Not when he protects me from harm.

How can I trust a shifter alpha when I’ve spent my whole life fighting them?

Fated Mates 💜

I wasn’t sure what to expect since I’m jumping right in the middle of a series but that did not matter much because the story still stood up on its own and is well written.

I am wary of mpregs because most of the time, it just doesn’t click with me. But this one, it’s more like alpha/omega enemies-to-lovers trope. The world building is very interesting, so is the conflict. It’s not a typical wolf pack defending their territory, alpha falls for an omega and they march into the sunset kinda story. This one is complex but easy to follow.

Here’s the thing though: I am not much of a big fan of Eli. 🙊 While I empathize the conflicting emotions of falling in love with an (supposed) enemy while also coming to terms that you’ve been fed with so much lies, it makes you question every single thing. But I honestly think there have been times in the book where I felt like he doesn’t deserve all the devotion, kindness and saintlike patience Michael gave him. Just when you think it’ll be all peachy, he falls back again based on some BS and Michael is once again left hanging. It felt cruel sometimes. But I’m still happy that Michael got his HEA.

This book has the drama, the pack bond, family dynamics, new friends and a salty alpha who wasn’t invited to sit with the cool kids, he went crazy and started a war. 😉

Benjamin Darcie is a new-to-me author but he didn’t great on this one. 🙊

Great Tale

I adored Michael and Eli from the beginning. A very good shifter story that’s a bit different from your typical shifter tale. Good romance and action. I hadn’t read any of the other books in the series and was able to understand the plot just fine. Narration was excellent.
I was given a code for this book in exchange for an honest review.

On an individual level

Everything is good, interesting characters and story. The romance part could use a bit more oomph. As part of the series its good but my issue is each book has a different narrator and while they all do a good job there is no consistency with name pronunciation or voices so for me that's irritating and distracting.

Wonderful performance and story

I am always a bit leery of prisoner romances as I can be hard to convince that the "love" doesn't smack of Stockholm Syndrome and that creeps me out. There was none of that vibe here. Eli is an incredibly strong character throughout the story and his feelings for Mikel develop in a way that is believable in this universe. The world building and major conflicts both between humans and shifters and within the pack continues to be very interesting with great twists and turns. Much os,the believability of Eli's changing perspectives and the love between the two MCs can be atteibuted to the performance of Benjamin L. Darcie. He brings every nuance of character development to life.

Alright

As a series I'm not really enjoying it to much war torn worlds are becoming a common denominator in shifter books....
As an individual story, there is some bite to it, when it comes to action. The romance could of used a pick me up a little bit.
The narrator did a great job, his voice is pretty soothing and calming.

Wonderful book!

This is the first book I’ve ever read narrated by Mr Darcie so I enjoyed a lot hearing his nice, profesional voice bringing to life this amazing world of war, danger, discrimination, intolerance and fanaticism, and of course, Eli's and Mikel's journey to get together as fated mates, falling in love while learning how to accept themselves exactly the way they are. The story is somehow difficult to read but I loved especially how the plot is so intense and emotional. I strongly recommend to read this book as part of the series to fully understand the complexity of the story. The most interesting book so far!!

When love is stronger than hate

I have enjoyed my ride with Everglow pack saga. And I have been looking forward to this book because I’m intrigued by Mikel and his story. This is a really interesting story with enemies to lovers tripe and to put the icing on the cake, they are fated mates. One of my very favorite combos!

Mikel is one of the most trusted members of the Inner Guard of the Everglow pack. And his mission? To get Eli, a hybrid and the sworn enemy of them, to talk to him. Sounds easy enough, huh? Things get real complicated when Mikel found out that Eli, the enemy, is his fated mate. Moreover, Eli genuinely hates his kind. When things get out of control real soon, Mikel found that his will to protect his mate is even stronger than his bond to his pack.

This is action packed, exciting, utterly thrilling. True love was tested, enemies were abundant and the situation very unstable. It was a long journey towards happily ever after but it was worth it. The narrator is new to me but he did an enjoyable job with the performance. I really enjoyed this one.

Great story

Mikel is part of the Inner Guard of the Everglow Pack. Eli is the enemy/hybrid, he's been taught to hate shifters. But Eli is Mikel's fated mate. Needless to say things get out of control. This story is full of action and family dynamics. Really good story, but should be listened to in order. Benjamin L Darcie did a great job on the narration. Definitely enjoyed!

Finding love and where you truly belong.

Hybrid Mate is book 3 in the Everglow Pack series. I love this series, and this action packed book with amazing characters is a wonderful addition. This is a continuous story series and should be enjoyed in order. I love Mikel and Eli together. Mikel, an alpha and member of the Inner Guard, and Eli, a hybrid prisoner, are fated mates. Mikel is very patient with Eli even though he's a prisoner and war is inevitable. Eli goes through a lot in this book and comes out stronger on the other side. He even makes a friend named Kyler.
I highly recommend this book and series and I can't wait to see what happens next.
Narrator Benjamin L. Darcie does a fabulous job in bringing these characters to life.

Great Paranormal MM Romance

Hybrid Mate, the third book in the Everglow Pack series, is a wonderfully written MM romance. The storyline is both sweet and steamy; I liked the contrast. The characters are delightful, charming, and quite appealing. Benjamin L Darcie did a wonderful with narration, bringing the characters to life. Brill

This is a brilliant continuation of the series as we get to know Eli who is a prisoner but as we explore his mental health some interesting information becomes apparent which is quite bad. Mikel has to work hard to get his mate to trust him. I was drawn into the story. Brill narrator.

Very Enjoyable

I really enjoyed this audiobook of Hybrid Mate. I loved the way the author characterized the struggle of Eli between what he has always been taught about the evil of wolves versus what he sees with his own eyes and the way he is actually treated. It felt more realistic that there was no one "aha" moment of change, but rather that the realization emerged over time. The portrayal of Mikel was also strong as he struggled between the demands of the Supreme Alpha and his people versus the needs of his own heart and his fated attraction to Eli. The story was exciting and engaging, sweet and heartfelt.

The narration was excellent with good pacing and distinct voices for the different characters. Great expression of emotion, especially in the angsty scenes.

I received a complimentary copy of this audiobook from Gay Romance Reviews and am voluntarily leaving this honest review.

Great audiobook

This was a great audiobook. I am really enjoying this series so far and the overarching story.

Eli and Mikel story was sweet and so so heartbraking. I loved how it was handled the anguish, the revelations, the love and trust that develops between them.

I really enjoyed the ending and the glimpse into the next book. I can't wait to see what's next.

Benjamin L Darcy does an amazing job of bringing them all to life and bring all the emotions front and center.
