Must read

This was the best of this series. It was gripping and emotional. The authors did an excellent job building the characters and their emotions. You know a book is great when it has you laughing, angry, and crying. Great job to the narrator too.

This one hit me in the gut...

Absolutely great ending to this series! There were several things that were still left unresolved after the last book - book 2- and this book did not disappoint in filing the blanks and FINALLY bringing this story to a close.

This book starts with Maddie seeming to be getting her life back on track. Things are going well with Tempest, and there looks like there is also changes occurring in her relationship with Benton. She is sober now and is working on getting her body back to a somewhat more manageable place.

Of course, that just happens to be the time when the serial killer known as the "Country Killer" strikes again. This time it is MUCH more personal and he makes it very apparent that he is focusing on Maddie.

This book starts with a bang and it doesn't let up until the very end. There is lots of action, some scary drama and a race to try to find the killer before he does more damage to Maddie's life.

Without going into spoilers, let me just say that this book got me with an event that I didn't see coming and boy did it hurt. I wasn't expecting it and more than that, I wasn't expecting my reaction to it. To get a reaction from me like that, I know that Mr. Ryan did his job in creating characters that I had developed a relationship with. Ones that I cared about and cared what happened to. That is always the best compliment I can give to a book.

Katie Hagaman is excellent.

I'm afraid Maddie Castle and I are parting ways. I am disappointed, but this book was more sophomoric than suits my taste. The love/relationship triangle of the 3 main characters was just too much. I realize that many will not have this same opinion, and I hope so. Author L.T. Ryan is a wonderful writer, and I have enjoyed many of her books. The audible performance by Katie Hagaman is excellent. - Mr.Bill

My new favorite series

I absolutely loved this book. I couldn’t stop listening to it. It kept me on edge, it broke my heart, but it all was so so good!

Best of the series............so far

This was by far in my opinion the best of the series and I for one can hardly wait for the next one to come i. I might go to another series by the same author(s), but I am a bit worried about not liking the next series and getting turned off on the next one in this series. At my age and what with having a severe case of CRS by the time the next one hits the air I'm likely to have forgotten how much I enjoyed this one.

Wish I could give this more stars

I’m struggling to come up with an adequate review for this book. Totally keeps your attention and the narration is excellent. I’m not sure I’ve ever openly wept over a book before but I did with this one….

Outstanding Story and Performance

While I was initially attracted this series by the use of dogs in the books. I was drawn in further by the realistic emotions of the charcters and the interesting twists and turns of the plot. The combination was phenomenal in this book along with the excellent narration. I haven't enjoyed a book this much in a long time!
