Publisher's summary

Have you ever thought, “Am I just a robot learning to be human?”If you want to learn to gain more confidence and have deep, engaging conversations as an introvert, keep reading…

If you find yourself among the 264 million people who suffer from social anxiety and think things like: I’m so awkward, I have no friends, or am I even human? Rest assured, there is nothing wrong with you.

Growing up, I believed that I was an alien. My interests always seemed to stray from pop culture, my background didn’t overlap with anyone else’s, and I truly believed no one could ever understand me. How could I talk to others when there was such a fundamental disconnect? And even with my few precious friends, I felt guarded because I was afraid I would lose them if I revealed who I really was.

In short, I viewed people as threats, felt hopelessly lonely, and wished I had the confidence to be myself and live this life as I wanted to.

If my experience parallels yours, I want to help you rewrite your story.

At some point, I realized I was tired of feeling left out and had nothing to lose. What if I could walk up to strangers and give them compliments? What if I tried being vulnerable with my friends? What if they knew who I really was?

This line of thinking changed everything. I went from someone who thought it was inconceivable to talk to others (much less make meaningful connections) to someone who feels empowered by doing precisely that.

You may not feel like it now, but some things in this world are simply true, whether you believe them or not. One of these things is that you matter! When you grow in confidence and make the connections you want, you won’t simply benefit yourself, but every person who gets to hear your story will walk away a little less drained and lonely.

Perhaps you feel misplaced because you believe social skills should be natural, not learned. But the truth is, social skills are like any other skills you have learned, and you can improve yours via intentional practice!

In How to Talk to Anyone for Introverts, you will discover…

  • How you can achieve more confidence (and change your identity) using an intrinsic biological power you already possess

“How to Talk to Anyone for Introverts by XinYi Xan and Margaret O’Connor is a good fit for introverted readers seeking to build confidence, improve social skills, and form deeper connections with others through intentional practice and self-discovery.“

✍️ for the first time, i know one of the authors. so, it was cool to gain a greater insight into her mind. especially on such a vulnerable topic.

🫣 it definitely calls you out on what you’ve been doing wrong, but the author does provide ways to handle the situation and better improve by stating “say this…” or “do this…” examples.

🗣️ it’s not just a rule book. the author provides personal anecdotes that people can relate to (or at least i did).

💕 even if you don’t struggle with making friends… i believe this book is still very useful to understand introverts who do. by gaining a greater understanding of how others feel and seek for signs when interacting with introverted individuals to make sure they feel comfortable and supported.
