Publisher's summary

At a time when mental health problems are increasingly prevalent among 18-35-year-olds, Beth McColl offers up practical advice for anyone who has a mental illness or knows and loves someone else who does.

How to Come Alive Again is a funny, honest, broken audiobook written by an author who could be described as the same. It is a combination of self-help audiobook, memoir and polemical lifestyle guide. It lays out the basics for mending your life, accepting yourself, changing what doesn’t work, killing the worst of it and learning to live through depression.

It’s an audiobook about what to do when you’re an anxious, depressed, spaghetti-brained mess in a society that still prefers us to act normal and never talk about our mental health. It’s an audiobook about what happens when your life turns to s--t and you can’t get out of bed. It’s an audiobook for when you outwardly seem happy and functional but are actually drowning in worry.

Would definitely relisten to this, a great dive into dealing with your demons

A fantastic and humorous dive into depression and how to help yourself by:

* Help on how to get through a a bad day
* How to talk to your partner about expectations
* Ways to practice self-care

and many more topics.

Would definitely listen again!

Wonderfully encouraging and insightful

I would recommend this to literally everyone, to those of us who suffer from depression and anxiety, no matter where you stand on your path to wellness, and to the wider world as well so they can get a peek behind the curtain and perhaps be slightly less insufferable. Personally this book had me catching myself nodding along as it described moments and thoughts that I find myself in from time to time, some uncomfortably familiar and some that just felt good to hear echoed across the globe. As someone neither at the beginning of that long road nor even able to glimpse the end past the horizon, this was a refreshing moment for me, reminding me of all the things I do simply to manage my illness and how I've gone so long doing them that I simply forgot and let that become who I am. To the author, thank you for the reminder, it's time to stop wasting my life
