Create a personal "power grid" of influence to spark professional and personal success.

"Other people have the answers, deals, money, access, power, and in uence you need to get what you want in this world. To achieve any goal, you need other people to help you do it." -- JUDY ROBINETT

As anyone in business knows, strategic planning is critical to achieving long-term success. In How to Be a Power Connector, super-networker Judy Robinett argues that strategic relationship planning should be your top priority.

When you combine your specific skills and talents with a clear, workable path for creating and managing your relationships, nothing will stop you from meeting your goals. With high-value connections, you'll tap into a dynamic "power grid" of influence guaranteed to accelerate your personal and professional success.

Robinett uses her decades of experience connecting the world's highest achievers with one another to help you build high-value relationships. She reveals all the secrets of her trade, including proven ways to:

  • Find and enter the best network "ecosystem" to meet your goals
  • Reach even the most unreachable people quickly and effectively
  • Get anyone's contact information within 30 seconds
  • Create a "3-D connection" that adds value to multiple people at the same time
  • Access key influencers through industry and community events
  • Subtly seed conversation with information about interests and needs
  • Use social media to your best advantage

Robinett has based her methods on solid researchproving that social groups begin to break up when they become larger than 150 people, and that 50 members is the optimal size for group communication. As such, she has developed what she calls the "5+50+100" method: contact your top 5 connections daily, your Key 50 weekly, and your Vital 100 monthly. This is your power grid, and it will work wonders for your career. Nothing will stop you when you learn How to Be a Power Connector.

Any additional comments?

Life changing book! I’ve never known how to network, not because I didn’t know how to talk to people and ask open-ended questions, but because I didn’t like the feeling that I was using them. Judy’s excellent book changed my perspective, giving me “permission” to just relate to people without every interaction being a “sales call.”

With practical steps and a clear explanation of “why,” How to Be a Power Connector has opened a whole new world to me of seeking how to help others, especially through connecting them to each other for their mutual benefit. It’s almost become a sport to find people with needs I would have never thought of being able to help them with, then looking for someone I know who can help.

The section on being in the right room is worth the price of the book alone. Seems obvious once you think about it, but sadly, too much time is wasted talking to the wrong people for what you need.

I bought both the Kindle and Audible.com versions of the book and highly recommend them.

Great insights, but wordy

This book is chalk full of great advisement. It was however, a rather long audiobook. I feel the same could be said using less "power connector" marketing & repetition. That said it's a worthy listen for someone seeking insight on how best to strategically connect.

Amazing!

This book is so amazing that I’m going to immediately listen to it again and buy a paper copy! There are so many amazing tips that I couldn’t possibly remember or write them all down without a hardcopy to take notes on, but the book is so exciting, encouraging, uplifting, and gives specific action steps and a game plan for power connecting. I feel like this book has already given me 80% of everything I would ever need about power connecting! I highly highly recommend to anyone who is serious about networking!

Usable & Straightfoward Networking Insights

A perfect commuter book. Listen to this book in small chunks so you can digest and apply the principals in each chapter. To succeed in business you must know how to extend your network effectively both in person and on the internet. Many avenues exist to show you how to increase the number of internet contacts. This is the first book which shows you how to connect effectively and robustly. Numbers talk, I landed the largest single client for 2018, when I was only 2/3rds of the way through the book. Now, I use the Judy's tools everyday. The best part is I enjoy the relationships I make with those in my network.

garbage - not a single actionable insight

This book Sucks with a capital S. The main premise is contained in the first chapter and the rest is chapter after chapter of fluff. It belongs in the same pile of useless crap as Never Eat Alone.

People - these books are supposed to HELP you. Meaning they are supposed to contain ideas, tricks and systems that you can implement so that you can see some kind of a measurable *RESULT*. This book doesn't have any of those things.

Good information. Time consuming to implement.

Book basically encourages business to follow the Golden Rule. Good advice but not original. Newest info is to apply the " Golden Rule" in a strategic fashion. Intentionally map out who you will add value to.

A very practical guide

Where does How to Be a Power Connector rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

This is a great audiobook for the road. It turns hour-long trips into momentary experiences. I find myself pausing it often to stop and think before continuing.

What was one of the most memorable moments of How to Be a Power Connector?

I have hit the "back" button on the audible app more often than any other book I've listened to so far. There's a lot of good thoughts worth hearing twice.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

'How to Win Friends and Influence People' meets the 21st century.

Great advice with follow up activities

Truly enjoyed the narrator, it’s great to listen to someone that believes that human connection, kindness and encouraging each other is more important than business, because people are business! If everyone followed Judy’s advice, we would be elsewhere as human kind. Great book

Just makes sense

I really enjoyed listening to this book as it makes so much sense but is also so counterintuitive in our digital world. These days, everybody wants to send automated Linkedin messages and generate sales straight away instead of building valuable relationships first.

For me, this book was an eye-opener because it describes the mindset and methods that I see other entrepreneurs around me use to grow their business more effortlessly.

I wouldn't even say that it is only a 'business' book but also a recipe for a happier life as so many suffer from loneliness and depression.

Highly recommendable!
