Unhappy with the change in Narrator!

I have enjoyed listening to this series so I purchased the last book to complete the series. I never thought to check the narrator. Why would they change the narrator for the last book in the series. You get so used to the voice, the characters. This narrator doesn't even sound at all like the other one, to breathy and so far most characters sound the same. Very dissapointed! I have to listen to hear the conclusion to the series but it's not going to be enjoyable!

Finally!

This is the fourth installment in the "Lone Star Sisters" series and is finally a book worth listening to. I loved the characters of Garth and Dana, and this book nicely wrapped up all the loose ends that had unraveled during the series. The narrator was outstanding and brought the story to life.

I much preferred Susan Mallery's "Buchanan" series, but this book (and the one before) helped in making this series a little more bearable.

Nice conclusion to this series

Where does Hot on Her Heels rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Good overall entertainment.

What three words best describe Natalie Ross’s performance?

Good but the narration was inconsistent in tone and volume. The men's voices were so low in volume and pitch, I often had to try to adjust my radio to hear them at all. It was very frustrating - it went from loud to very soft.

A narrator sure can ruin a good series!

I was looking forward to this last story in the series but the narrator makes it very difficult to listen to. She sounds sort of whiney and Garth's voice is pretty high pitched. Talk about emasculating the hero. The cadence was difficult to get through as well. She sort of pauses after every 3 or 4 words. Who talks like that? As you can tell, the most of what I recall is about the narrator and not the story. I quit listening after about two hours and have purchased it from Barnes & Noble to read it instead.

Good story

I liked the story which is why I kept kayaking but the narrator was a little awkward.

Too bad same performer did not finish the series

While I enjoyed this book it is a great pity the series did not close out with the same performer. I’ll avoid any books performed by Natalie Ross, her voice is very annoying. If I did not really want to listen to the last book, I would have returned it for a refund!

Mallery great, Ross annoying

Enjoyed the entire Lone Star series. Ross as narrator was awful. She whisper talked the whole thing with a few loud exclamations. I was constantly having to alter the sound level. The whole point of an audiobook is to listen while you do something else without having to pull your iPod out of your pocket and change the volume 5 times in a couple of minutes. I won’t buy another book she narrates.

I don’t know what this was,

but there was no filling out details of the plot.

This was a strange book. It’s people having conversations. People talk about people, and things that happened, or might happen, and maybe why things happened. It’s telling not showing. I didn’t feel any emotion because no one is doing anything that causes feelings. Three sisters talk to Dana and the group decides Dana will follow Garth for a while. Dana shows up in his lobby. When he sees her he invites her to his condo for dinner. She tells him she will be following him. But we don’t see him go places with her behind in a car or whatever. They have dinner three nights in a row. They have sex. The surveillance was something to say, but I didn’t see any surveillance being done.

I listened to more than half the book and was bored. So I skipped to the last two chapters. Even they did not interest me.

I bought the audiobook because I love the narrator Natalie Ross. She is one of the few female narrators who can do men well. But even Natalie couldn’t make this a better story.

Narrative mode: 3rd person.
Genre: contemporary romance.

Last book and they changed narrated, not smart.

I loved all these books and the narrated was great up tell the last book. This narrated was trying to hard to be, I don't no, maybe seductive. The voice for Garth was so off the mark.
