Publisher's summary

If I had to pick a bride of convenience, my first choice would not be Peach Maloney.

My 50th choice would not be Peach. Top spot on my list of occupational hazards? Yes. Royal pain in the crumpets? Yes. A bride of convenience? No.

But I've unexpectedly gone from royal bodyguard to monarch, having inherited a crown that was stolen from my family long before my birth. The kicker of this unexpected royal gift? In order to take the throne, I must find a wife.

Have I mentioned Peach would not have been my hundredth choice? But I've no other options, and she needs a favor that my new position can fulfill quite nicely. So we've agreed to play the doting newlyweds out in public.

In private, though, our rules are simple: No touching. No talking. And certainly no sex.

I should have known better than to marry a rule-breaker. Contains mature themes.

Damn Hot Air Balloons

Super cute! One reviewer said they laughed the whole time, I will tell you that there was some funny parts in the book but I have laughed harder at a couple of other books by Pippa. BUT just because I didn’t laugh through this whole book does not mean I did not enjoy it!

Good despite it had parts which dragged.

You will get a good laugh out of this. but then it drags in spots. I never did find a spot of liking for the teen.

Hot Heir

This was my first Pippa Grant book and I found it quite entertaining. The humor was quite refreshing. The plot moved along very well and had substance. I would have loved it to be more in depth with interactions with the people of Amoria, but that didn’t diminish the quality of the book. As for narration, Emma Wilder was as usual excellent. Stephen Dexter is one of my favorite narrators; but I found for this book the accent he tried to use was distracting. I would have enjoyed it much more is he wouldn’t have tried to use such a strong accent. Something subtle would have been better

Laughed out loud

Really enjoy Pippa Grant's (& the combination works with Lili Valente) stories, this one is laugh out loud, funny and not too short!

Cute story

It was a cute story with a lot of growth from all the characters.. I was extremely annoyed with the CONSTANT Thor references.. “oh my Thor”, “thank Thor” “I swear to Thor”… no woman would ever use those references.. the play on the southern phrases in the beginning was a bit much..

Crude Lady porn can hide a deluge of bad writing

Each chapter is riddled with clichés and stereotypes... it's embarrassing. There is no connection between the MC, yet the author forces uncomfortable fake sexual tension. I don't get how portraying the FMC as a b/witch is appealing to the opposite sex. It is so far from real, and it makes for an annoying read. Are we expected to equate a woman emasculating a man as sexy? Every encounter and internal dialog is crass and obnoxious. Bottomline, there is limited humor, nonexistent romance, and even less enjoyment. I'm done with forcing myself to like this author's work.

male narrator is over the top

Story is ok, female narrator is great, male narrator is usually very good, but in this case thé accent is really strange and unpleasant.

Hilarious.

Lots of laugh-out-loud comedy. Characters are very relatable and I like that the sex and romance builds like a historical romance. Great fun and subtle humor from the strong but gentle hero. My kind of pick-me-up romance.

Viktor and Peach

Great story of a guard found his match or how a strong business owner woman found her match. Because at the end of everything we all have our One, just need to recognize the signs.

Cute but mostly corny

Definitely a background noise type of book. The story itself was cute and I did like the characters as people but just hated hearing them talk and think. I like to listen to this kind of book at work since it’s not too complicated but this one had zero complexity. The whole thing was unrealistic. No one talks like this, no one thinks “knob” that often, laws don’t work this way, and the “for the love of Thor” was so unnecessary. Definitely not Pippa Grant’s best at all. I would’ve DNFed this one but I hate skipping books in a series. The rest of the series is really great for the most part. I do love Pippa just not this book’s dialogue. Also, Stephen Dexter has done better and has sounded less like a cartoon in other books. His accent was horrible for this. That being said there was no saving the “quirky” parts of the dialogue thrown in this.

Peach & Victor

Pippa Grant is one of my fav authors ever. Hot heir was so funny but also quite sweet. Absolutely loved Emma Wilder and Stephen Dexter’s performance as they gave life to the characters in a tremendous way.

This needs a warning label

I’m going to do you a favour here do not eat or drink while listening. You won’t want to pause it I didn’t and ended up wearing my drink after a particular funny part.

This one is such a fantastic story with 2 characters made to be together and plenty of brilliant side characters

Absolutely spot on

I had belly ache from laughing. The balloon rides, the llama, the hearts, the tacky tacky hearts and the crazy people. Especially Victor and Peach.

hilarious enemies to lovers

At last Peach and Viktor get their own story and what a rollercoaster it is. With reclaiming a lost throne, hot air balloon rides, a marriage of convenience there's plenty to keep you gripped to this story. (Oh I nearly forgot about the llamas!)
Excellent narration throughout, especially Viktor's description of his naughty parts!!!! Highly recommended 💕💕💕💕

Not the best of the series

This would have been a good story if not for the lame British characters. I am British myself and was really disappointed with the silly accent and dialogue. You can not have a lead male character speaking as though he is an elderly uncle. Who talks like that anyway. I wish Pippa had made Victors character more believable. I get that his character is royalty however he is more like 90+ year old Prince Philip rather than a hunky Prince Harry! haven’t listened to Gracie and Manning’s story yet and I really hope it isn’t similar. Loved all the other books so far by Pippa.
