The witch and the reluctant werewolf.

Horrible Halloween Hazards is a wonderful quick and quirky little read. I think that the storyline is great. I loved the quirkiness of the characters especially Penelope the sarcastic witted talking cat. The characters are strong and well developed. I received this book and I am leaving my honest review voluntarily of my own volition.

Stilted

Dialog is very stilted and awkward. A plot is pretty much non-existent. There were a number of conflicts raised in the story that were never resolved. I didn't learn enough about the characters to become vested in the outcome. I think a better editor would have helped. Based on this example, I don't really see a reason to read anything else by this author. I did get a free copy of this book for an honest review.

Fun Story

Nice, safe, and sweet. No blood, no violence, no sex. That was a nice clean cozy mystery with a Halloween twist.

Fun and entertaining

This is a fun, entertaining story and a good mystery. I love the unusual, fanciful characters, Meg as a witch, the enchanted bakery, her boyfriend/detective the werewolf and Grandma the cat. But there are real threats to Meg and the town that Conner, with the help or hinderance of Meg, must take care. Two ex convicts have settled into town, one is threatening Conner, as he was involved in his arrest. The glitch is, there is a full moon and you know what happens during a full moon...Conner may not be available. Good quick read/listen with exciting ending.

Fun Halloween short story

Meg Walton, witch and bakery owner, and Connor Smith, werewolf and police detective, are hoping for a happy Halloween together. Unfortunately, the moon will be full the next few days, meaning that Connor will be spending the nights locked up in his cage, to keep his "mindless beast" form from doing any damage.

Also, two criminals he got locked up not nearly long enough ago, are now getting released from prison. One has served out his sentence; the other has gotten paroled, in Connor's opinion, far too soon.

One of the ex-cons confronts Meg in a parking lot, very aggressively. He says he just needs to warn her about what an awful person Connor is, at least in his opinion.

The other ex-con turns up leaving a house on Connor's own street--and then again later, in a restaurant Connor and Meg are having lunch in.

Both men clearly blame Connor for their derailed life plans, but does either intend to seek revenge?

Meg and Connor are both likable, and they're acting like adults in building their relationship.

This is a fun little short story. Recommended.

I received a free copy of this audio short story from the author, and am reviewing it voluntarily.

Horrible Halloween Hazards

It's Halloween and Meg is handing out candy. Her fiance, Connor, is with her and they are enjoying themselves. it's hard for him to wrap his head around the fact that Meg's grandmother is her cat. He needs to get use to the magical works Meg lives in. Then she surprised him by asking to see his transformation. he also and if it's possible to help him get rid of the curse of being a werewolf. While trying to work through all this, two ex come show up and make life a little more difficult for both of them.
LoriKatz is am amazing narrator whose voice brings to life the characters.

YOU NEVER KNOW WHO WILL SAVE YOU AND HOW

Another story of Meg and Connor where Meg is a witch and Connor is an unhappy and cursed werewolf. Meg has never seen Connor change and Connor has two ex-convicts out of prison. His life may be in danger and it’s up to Meg to take care of him during a full moon and Halloween. A sweet and quick read.

The narration is sweet and feminine, but the narrator does a good job of the male voices.

Great Read

Horrible Halloween Hazards was another great quick read by Amelia Morgan. Meg was hoping for a fun and carefree Halloween but two paroled convicts make that not a reality. This was another great read following Meg and her detective boyfriend. I can't wait to read more by Amelia Morgan.

trouble is brewing in Enchanted Cove

Detective Conner Smith and his fiance Meg Walton have an unusual relationship, he is a werewolf and she is a witch.
He would like not to be a werewolf and asks Meg if she can find a spell that could counter it.

Detective Smith realizes has reached a period in his professional life that he realizes people he has put away are being released. This means they will be wandering the streets and become part of the community if they stay in town.

Two such convicts are being released and are free to do what they want, as well as live where they want. They both decide to return to Enchanted Cove. Detective Smith and Meg plan to watch them when they can, working around their regular schedules. Some days are quiet, but not too many.

The first convict is Isaac Forrester. He has a chip on his shoulder and decides to make the detective’s life miserable by harassing his fiancé, Meg. Approaching Meg in the grocery store’s parking lot, he berates her and tries to disparage Detective Smith. He is very aggressive.

The other ex-con is Josh Gilbertson. He is doing his best to try to convince everyone that he has changed and only wants a quiet life. But does he really?

See how this plays out. Does Conner get his wish? Will there be more trouble in store for Meg & Conner?

Will Meg’s feelings for Detective Smith change when she sees his alter-ego? The transformation leaves a lasting impact on Meg.

This was well done with vivid imagery.

Enjoyable

Format: audiobook 4*
I like Meg’s character and her talking cat being her grandma although I’m having trouble with that idea as the cat sounds more like a sassy teen than an older woman. I wouldn’t call this story a mystery as there was no mystery to solve but it is an enjoyable story.
