Wanted: women with religious upbringing, high morals, and a strong sense of adventure, willing to marry decent, God-fearing men. Applicants may apply by mail. Must allow at least two months for an answer.

Mail-order-bride Hope Kallahan is not amused when her stagecoach is waylaid by a bunch of bumbling outlaws. The feisty beauty is puzzled by the oddball in the group - the disarmingly kind Grunt Lawson. She doesn’t know that Grunt is really Dan Sullivan, a government agent sent to infiltrate the gang on what was supposed to be his last assignment. As Hope intimidates hardened criminals into cleaning house and talks Dan into rescuing her, Dan believes God had a reason for throwing her in his path...especially since Hope attracts danger like a magnet.

This book is hilarious! I liked Faith, but I loved Hope because it made me laugh so much.

The book is not very realistic in some ways. For instance, Dan shoots two squirrels and it feds five adults. But strict, historically accurate fiction isn’t the aim of the book. The book instead puts Hope and Dan in a series of mishaps which impede her marrying as a mail order bride. The circumstances range from kidnapping to mountain lion attack to a family fued and get crazier and crazier as the story progresses. These don’t seem funny on the surface but the way Hope handles the situations and the absurdity of the many characters are what makes the book truly hilarious.

I feel often that Christian romance takes itself too seriously. This book doesn’t for the most part. Hope prays a lot. She “leads” an outlaw to “accept Jesus as Savior.” But Hope also often misquotes the Bible in funny ways and makes other mistakes which are funny for a preacher’s daughter to make.

I often wonder why I feel awkward about “asking Jesus in your heart” scenes while others think this straightforward evangelical approach necessary. Maybe I prefer a more subtle message. May I prefer a different approach to sharing faith altogether. Nevertheless, this part is small, and the book is well-performed, well written, and will be enjoyed by anyone who likes clean rom coms. I would give it 6/5 if I could because it is so entertaining.

It’s Really Funny!

This is my favorite book so far in this series. The first two were good this one is great. Hope gets kidnapped on her way west to be married. The kidnappers think she is someone else. Grunt one of the kidnappers is working undercover. He helps her as much as he can. This book is so good. I cant say enough good about it. I caught myself laughing half the time. Her soon to be husband that she's going to marry thinks she backed out. That part of the book is good to. I highly recommend trying this book and series. Holly Adams does a great job narrating this book. If my review is any help will you please click on the helpful link below. Thank you.
