Blood is boiling in Bellmare.

A summer heat wave is the worst of vampire baker Priscilla Pratt’s problems - until an anti-vampire religious sect shows up in town.

Someone else comes knocking: a grumpy (though handsome) investigator who is suspicious Priscilla has been surrounded by so many murders recently. Avalon, Priscilla’s wacky fairy godmother, is causing a ruckus again, too.

And finally - another murder, right under Priscilla’s nose, found dead on the steps of the church. Priscilla is the number-one suspect, and everyone seems to want to do her in. The best amateur sleuth in town now must investigate under the radar - or find herself in the hot seat.

I think that it is fair to say, by this point, I have become fairly emotionally involved in the world of Priscilla and the citizens of Bellmare - I am addicted.

I know that I've been saying this every book, but I swear that this was the best book so far.

What I really loved about this installment was the addition of a young vampire, Dean, as an adopted child for Priscilla. I found myself having a giggle at a few of his snide teenage remarks throughout the story.

However, while I adore this series, I must note that there is one thing that is starting to get annoying and that is Priscilla's temper tantrums whenever the evidence seems to point at one of her friends. I mean, I understand her eagerness to prove their innocence, but she comes off as annoying and petty sometimes. Nevertheless, that minor detail won't put me off of the series.

Overall, Holy Crepes was an excellent cozy mystery, and I am eager to see what shenanigans are next for Bellmare.
