The 11th book in Joe Nobody's popular series, Holding Their Own: Hearts and Minds, takes the listener on a rampaging exploration of how critical the elements of trust, faith, and respect will become in the postapocalyptic world.

Bold steps are required to ensure the recovery continues, placing enormous pressure on the republic's leadership and creating opportunities for old enemies to seek revenge. The stakes are high, the weight of civilization's future sending waves of discord rolling across the land and potentially fracturing the very foundation on which the alliance was built.

Bishop and Terri find themselves embroiled in a fast-moving conspiracy that threatens not only all that has been accomplished but their future together. They soon discover that the greatest threats aren't external but come from within the hearts and minds of those they love.

I love this series and recommend it for anyone interested in PA fiction. My main objective here however is to give high praise to Michael Pauley for his spot on narration. Mr. Nobody has used several different narrators in this series and some were awful, ruining the story for me, however this narrator was fantastic. I could tell who was speaking, male or female, before they were even identified. That’s how nuanced his narration is this book.

Keep using Michael Pauley Mr. Nobody!

Great series AMAZING NARRATOR!

Is this supposed to be a conclusion to the book? What I got was a few paragraphs from the middle of the book.

What happened to ch 18?

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Only if someone didn't listen to the others in the series first

What didn’t you like about Michael Pauley’s performance?

The voices were terrible. Why oh why would they change narrators again! He made my favorite characters that I spent many, many hours listening to, sound corny and odd. I really look forward to his books coming out and it was spoiled by the change. Terrible accents, gloomy sounding, not like Bishop, Terry, and the rest are at all.

Why are these authors always screwing with a good thing? It's not the first time I was turned against an author because of it.

Any additional comments?

Only if they were into the series.

What aspect of Michael Pauley’s performance would you have changed?

Mr. Pauley, no offense Sir, but I kept waiting for Bishop to break into an Elvis song at some point. Maybe Bishop could sing "She's a machine" to Terri. And I just don't remember the Col. having a New England Kennedy accent.
(The Elvis song is from Flaming Star. I refused to link the movie "Stay away Joe to my review.)

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I cried when the final five minutes was the same as a previous chapter.

Any additional comments?

I love the series, heck I would not spend the money for all the books if I didn't. Please please go back and give us someone we have all liked. I know I can't do any better, but that is why I do not try and read these for a living.

Bishop is actually an Elvis impersonator?
