Trump was found guilty of 34 felony charges in a NY criminal court, prosecuted by New York City's first Black District Attorney and tried before a jury of ordinary citizens. But that doesn't mean what it means for most ordinary folk. Though, as a convicted felon, he can't get a job at many places, he can still be President. We've got an important PSA about Leopards Eating Your Face if you think not voting is a choice. We're also trying to understand why Halle Berry's current partner Van Hunt is attending court-ordered co-parenting counseling with Halle and her ex? Eboni breaks down why that might not be the smartest move. And finally, Black men forced off an American Airlines flight due to an...odor? Eboni and Dustin have thoughts, feelings, and opinions. The real stink is some history that prompted an NAACP Call on American Airlines to Respond to a Pattern of Discrimination. Holding Court with Eboni K. Williams is produced by Uppity Productions LLC. • Don’t Get TOO Comfortable: PSA for Hip Hop Proximate White Folks
    May 29 2024
Arrests and convictions don't have to be the end of your story! This week Eboni highlights a story that shows the beauty of second chances. We're also digging into how DJ Vlad turned Karen real quick on social media and the ways white folks love proximity to Black culture but don't love Black people. An estimated 70 million to 100 million Americans—roughly 1 in 3 U.S. adults—have an incarceration, conviction, or arrest record according to the Center for American Progress. The Clean Slate Initiative believes everyone deserves a second chance and believes that people should not be defined by their criminal records. Read CEO Sheena Meade's Op-Ed in Essence Magazine. • What's Mine is Mine AND What's Yours is Mine $$
    May 22 2024
Where does the money reside when you divorce? It's not always as cut-and-dry as a 50/50 split anymore. This week's docket is here to prove it. First up, the sad case of Wendy Williams' guardian's fight to get her what she is owed, not only from her ex-husband Kevin Hunter but also from the show she hosted for the better part of 14 seasons! Next (23:00) Jenna Dewan is seeking her share of the Magic Mike money that was made during her time married to Channing Tatum; and lastly, a federal appeals court upholds their ruling in the (40:00) Zion Williamson agent case. It's a cautionary tale of an episode this week! Holding Court with Eboni K. Williams is produced by Uppity Productions LLC. Hosts & Executive Producers: Eboni K. Williams and Dustin Ross. Powerful Messaging

Another powerful message in the books. Once again, Ms. Eboni and Mr. Dustin, you 2 have done God's work in not only delivering messages aligned with supporting humanity but ACTIONABLE items for the people. The Wandering Office Act should be included in the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act. I think people are so caught up in the qualified immunity but ignoring essential pieces that Jason Johnson writes about and this NY bill. I learn A LOT from this podcast. Thank you for bringing the fire 🔥.

Unapologetically Black

A safe space to learn and be heard. I love how Eboni and Dustin make this a casual conversation about serious issues with family. It is NOT an echo chamber and I NEVER miss an episode of the podcast or IGTV sidebars. Keep up the good work loves! xoxo

Truth

What a great explanation of what happened without mocking someone and belittling anyone, adding to my listening schedule now
