harley chase works his magic again

reading his bane, it was VERY clear that sully was going to be one of those characters that would need to be narrated *just right*. the narration for him specifically was most definitely going to make or break this book. overplay sully’s psychopathic character traits, and you turn him into a
caricature. underplay them and everything courtney’s written loses its spine. lucky for the listener, harley and courtney are audiobook soulmates. she gives him the characters with full faith that he’s going to treat them well. and he takes the characters and brings them to life with this innate understanding of their inner workings. and what harley does here with sully is truly chilling. he perfectly captures everything about sully’s baleful nature, but also the ridiculous golden retriever parts of him that are a different flavor of crazy from the knife-wielding ones. everything about this book was masterfully done, but with courtney and harley at the helm, i expected nothing less than perfection

Very Dark Romance

I’m going to call this assassin’s in love. They are both ruthless in their own ways, even to each other. Definitely check triggers before reading/listening.

Beyond Amazing

Harley has outdone himself again!!!

I thought the last book I listened to was his best, but I was wrong. I have a new favorite!

From the start of this book I was instantly transported into the story. The writing, plot, and narration come together to create perfection. I had to pick my jaw up off the floor a time or two.

I loved the emotions and depth Harley brought to Malik and Sully’s characters. They both are deep characters already but hearing them added even more. It was unbelievable. As “cold” & distant as these two tried to be to one another you could still feel & hear the underlying desires they have.

There’s a lot of events that happen and shape Sully and Malik into who they are. And they both continued to shape each other. I had the chills, paced with anxiety, and found myself frozen in place because I was in shock. There were also moments when I found myself in awe and giddy with excitement.

Their journeys are full of darkness and getting to it HEA wasn’t easy. But their love is unmatched & unbreakable.

This was one of those books that I didn’t want to end. I wanted more time with Sully and Malik. As hard as it was to put this book down, I knew I needed to pace myself in order to savor it. And I’m glad I did. As happy as I was for these two, I was sad to let them go.

Harley narrated the hell out of this book!!!
He put his whole heart and soul into it. He brought Courtney’s words to life and then some.

Okay, I’ve read the other books in this series, and getting Sally’s story to fill in the blanks was amazing. I love him as a character and Harley did a fantastic job bringing both Sully and Malik to life!

His Bane

The narration brings this book to life and inflect so much emotion to the story. My only issue with the narration is the accent does change subtly from time to time. Overall, it’s a great listen
