I did love this story - mostly because the romance between Dora and Jed seemed a lot more intense and virile than a lot of Roberts other books. For instance, I liked their relationship much more than the one in The Collector, and better than the one in The Witness, too. Mostly I think, because not only was it deeper and better written, but because it didn't dwell on any past romances or previous relationships, or anything like that. Strange as that sounds, I DESPISE when romance plot lines drop little hints and bits and pieces about either parties past love affairs, its so unnecessary. (looking at you, The Witness) It spoils the romance ;) Sentimental of me, but still.
Besides the excellent love story, I really liked the mystery as well, although it was very far-fetched, I kind of liked the idea of a completely insane villain, it made it interesting.

If you like Roberts and her style of writing, then I really recommend this. Its a nice escape, but its also a real and true look at at what pain and loss and the past can do to a person, and how it can impair their ability to love, but not destroy it. Jed had some demons, but he exorcised them nicely with Dora's help and the result was a much more meaningful, deep and gut-wrenching romance.

On a different note - the narration was NOT good. If the story hadn't hooked me, I would have wept about how awful the whole narration was, particularly of the men! It was tragic. But because I loved the book, I won't be returning this.

Great romance & a little bit of mystery

This story is great for anyone who appreciates the headings content. Also, if there is a child, teen or multinational who is looking to pick up or improve grammar and vocabulary skills this is a great story for that in that it will hold their attention, be interesting enough to be sure to listen to the whole thing, be easy to listen to and understand yet be exemplary in the execution of a good story and the use of proper English.

Good Story, Good Grammar, Good Syntax & Narration

The story was typical but I was distracted by the annoying background noise. I kept thinking who’s talking in the background.. they could re-record this audio to be more professional!

Typical storyline and distracting background noise.

Entertaining story, however the voices & choice of dialogue made the characters sound like adolescents and not grown young women.

Predictable
