Publisher's summary

I wrote about the most difficult time of my life as it was happening and posted it on a blog. I’d been confronted with a chain of strange events that seemed impossible to understand. I tried to dismiss what was happening, but all the clues pointed to one thing, and I was forced to ask myself, “Am I a UFO abductee?

I started writing 10 years ago, as an attempt to answer that question. This is a collection of the most vital posts from the popular blog Hidden Experience. It’s a roller-coaster journey of doubts and fears as I wrestle with UFOs, missing time, synchronicities, and owls.

The story that unfolds is scary, mysterious, disturbing - and, at times, funny. It’s an insight into the strange challenges of otherworldly contact. Confronting the darkest unknowns ultimately lead to an awakening of consciousness.

This is the personal journey from the author of the groundbreaking books The Messengers and Stories from the Messengers.

Wonderful!

This book is well worth the credit. It’s interesting and every story keeps you engaged. I love the author’s voice and you can sense his sincerity and his angst at times. I appreciate his bravery for telling all of his weird, bizarre stories. It makes you be more aware of your own life and synchronicities

Well done

Clelland does a wonderful job of presenting and explaining information. He offers and explains without forcing a conclusion. Great piece of work.

Enjoyed this more than The Messengers

In this book Clelland provides more context by sharing his background with excerpts from his blog, that I was not aware of at all until this book.
He shares, very well, what it's like to meet yourself obliquely. Using an artist's language to draw attention to the peripheral vision, where subtle truths display.

He has a gift for narration too, easy to listen to.

More Than Owls

Chances are, if you are considering this, you know who Mike Clelland is. The guy who has a million owl and UFO stories. Well, this book is a lot more than owls (there are still owls, though).

This book is one person's attempt to confront and come to terms with what has happened to them, and it's done in real time. The author does not shy away from injecting the raw emotion that was felt when writing these posts into the reading. This comes through very strongly at times, and it can be jarring. The UFO field can be clinical at times, and it's easy to separate yourself from the impact it has on the experiencers. Mike Clelland does not let you distance yourself. You are with him for every synchronicity, every owl, every odd occurrence. And that is absolutely refreshing. I cannot recommend this book enough.

A spell-binding journey of discovery

As someone who hasn't yet read Mike Clelland's previous two "owl" books, I was only vaguely aware of the owl/UFO phenomenon, and didn't know much about the author. After listening to the audiobook of Hidden Experience in the author's own voice, I immediately ordered his other two books. Hidden Experience collects entries of the author's blog that tell the very real story of his own experiences with synchronicity and UFO/alien contact. And there are a whole lot of owls. I found Mike's reading of his own text to be a very intimate experience as a listener. Many of his stories are filled with awe, pain, frustration, sadness, and his reading reflects these emotions. He supplements his blog posts with additional narrative to help the listener understand the context of his feelings at the time of writing. His candid assessment of himself is refreshing and lends credibility to his experiences. His wonder became mine. His curiosity became mine. The world is a much stranger place than many of are led to believe, and this book is a fascinating trip down the rabbit hole... with owls.

Mike is an amazing author …

The narrator is terrible … the author awesome . I couldn’t listen to the guy reading the story though…
