Publisher's summary
Anything can happen behind closed doors....
The gripping new novel from the author of bestseller The Next Girl. Her Final Hour will have you hooked!
Melissa Sanderson is the perfect wife and mother. She dotes on her daughter and lives in her dream home in a quiet cul-de-sac in the suburbs.
But looks can be deceiving.
Something is amiss in that house - all the neighbors think so. Some say Melissa is having an affair. Others say she’s been drinking too much.
Then one night, sirens wake up the whole neighborhood.
Melissa Sanderson is dead.
An absorbing thriller with an ending you won't see coming! If you like Lisa Gardner, Robert Bryndza, or Clare Mackintosh, you’ll love this absolutely heart-stopping thriller from Carla Kovach.

Would not recommend
I liked the first book but a few hours into this one I had to finally stop because the story line started reading more like a bad slasher movie: when you start thinking how dumb a person has to be to go into the woods in the middle of the night by herself to.....I would have liked more intelligence. Not sure that I now want to buy the third one just the series.

A good page turner, but...
After recently reading the 1st book in the series as well, I'm hoping the 3rd in the series moves away from "the deranged and abusive man mentally and physically abuses and belittles the woman he claims to love, keeping her imprisoned" theme.

Which is worse, the story or the narrator
First off the story just gets annoying, like it is trying for conflict and excitement... but there's nothing there. The narrator did a good job here of making the characters annoying, the victim, her husband (especially annoying) and even the investigator. My fist hour with this book was my final hour... Had to return it. Suggestion to author... let the people be interesting, don't try to make them interesting.

Good story but...
The story was interesting, if predictable. I knew who did it after the second chapter. My biggest issue was the heroine, Gina Harte. She hasn’t got the sense God have a goose. It’s hard to believe her character is a ranking police officer who survived her 20s with her lack of self-protectiveness or common sense.

Totally gripping
"Her Final Hour" by Carol Kovach is an electrifying and gripping crime thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat from the very first page. Kovach's masterful storytelling and intricate plot make for a truly captivating read that is hard to put down.
From the moment I delved into the novel, I was immediately drawn into the world created by Kovach. The characters are compelling, the suspense is palpable, and the pacing is relentless, creating an immersive experience that had me guessing at every turn.
Kovach's attention to detail and her ability to weave together a complex web of mystery and intrigue is commendable. The way she artfully combines plot twists and turns with deep character development showcases her talent as a writer in the crime thriller genre.
The protagonist's journey is a rollercoaster of emotions, and the interplay of suspense and human drama adds depth to the narrative. The way Kovach keeps readers guessing, all the while slowly unraveling the intricately layered plot, is a testament to her skill as a storyteller.
"Her Final Hour" is a heart-pounding, adrenaline-fueled ride that will leave readers breathless. Kovach has crafted a modern masterpiece in the crime thriller genre—an unputdownable page-turner that will linger in your mind long after you've finished the final chapter.
In conclusion, "Her Final Hour" is an absolute must-read for fans of crime thrillers. Kovach's seamless blend of suspense, mystery, and emotional depth makes this book a standout in its genre. I wholeheartedly recommend "Her Final Hour" to anyone looking for a thrilling and immersive reading experience. Carol Kovach has undoubtedly secured her place among the top authors in the crime fiction world, and I eagerly anticipate her next literary offering.

Very tense and thrilling
First book by this author and boy am I impressed. The subject was a bit tense for me and I nearly stopped but then the good guys started winning and off I went couldn’t put it down. Excellent narrator solid heroine and fantastic plot. Must read all the books.

Very Intense
More intense than I thought it would be. Like the first book, there are a LOT of characters to get to grips with, and a lot of suspense. Found it a bit too highly strung with not enough comfortable moments in between.
Also like the last one...the title seems completely unrelated. Sure, it could be tied into any part of the storyline, but it seems to almost be clickbait, as it doesn't really tell you about the story. To me, the title implies that something happened right before she died, however the story does not focus on that at all.
I enjoyed the read but personally feel a bit tired after listening to it.

A gripping novel
It is indeed an unputdownable thriller. Kept me riveted till the end. I read part of the book and listened to part of it. I recommend it highly. The only negative thing i could think of is that when the suspense unravels it does seem a bit unrealistic. But I could be wrong. There could be a lot of psychopaths out there who could resort to murdering people and mistreating women in the real world. All in all highly recommended reading!

"Your daughter is dead." When Kat Cavanaugh hears the words every mother dreads, her perfect world shatters. She takes in the beautiful long blonde hair, torn yellow dress, and chipped blue nail-varnish. It can’t be real. And then the police add the word "suicide". But Kat refuses to believe them. Even when they show her the familiar looping handwriting and smudged ink on the note her little girl left behind. She knows her bubbly, vivacious daughter would never take her own life.
