What a great start to a new spin-off series called DarkWing Clan by Chloe Archer. Gary Furlong did an amazing job with the narration and he gave Greg Boudreaux a run for his money!!! Sorry Greg but it's true!!!

When the author says "this book contains more movie references than you can shake a stick at" she's not lying. I can't express how much fun this book was and how the narrator brought it to life. That Scottish brogue, sigh.

This story left me happy and feeling good. Hold on to your hats everyone, you're in for a treat.

Really interesting action packed paranormal romance with just the right amount of spice and humor. I loved the way the Gary Furlong really brought the characters to life with his narration.

Chloe had paired with Gary Furlong for this audiobook and dang a match made in Scotish heaven! Gary nails the entire cast spectacularly making a fun book even better! I hope to see more of this author/narrator in the future!

When you pick up a Chloe Archer book, expect chaos with love and action. With her addition to the Tales of the Tarot collection, you have just that and so much more. Noah has been plagued with bad luck his whole life until he happens to come upon the Magic Shop. Where the Star major arcana card is drawn and Noah knows it's time to follow his dreams.
This time, we get to head to Scotland and the DarkWing Castle. You may remember hearing of Elyrk in the Gargoyle and His Romance Writer of his older brother Elryk. Now it's his turn to get his fated mate in the amazingly bubbly Noah. be prepared for all the movie and TV references their are a lot, and they make his personality all the more loveable. The action is nonstop, leaving you to wonder how this will all play out in the end. As with all Chloe reads now, a certain best friend and loyal legend need their stories as well. Hint hint nudge nudge. I will read those immediately!

Outstanding story and narration

I cannot overstate how much I adored this book. Elryk was a wonderful, grumpy, possessive/protective gargoyle who goes schmoopy for his fated mate. Noah is sweet, caring, determined, and freaking hysterical. The world building was a good setup for this new series, and I enjoyed the plot.

Gary Furlong absolutely nailed the narration. His accents, pronunciation, pacing, inflection, just everything. I laughed so hard at parts and it was partly due to his delivery of the lines.

Nasser and Braewyn absolutely need books now!!

MORE GARGOYLES PLEASE!!

This was such an adorable fated mates story. It was also pretty darn funny too. I was dying when Elryk took Noah flying for the first time when not in danger and Noah called their safety harness "the gargoyle BDSM version of a Baby Bjorn!" Having owned a baby wearing contraption I could just picture it in my head and it had me giggling all over again. Not to mention the narrators fantastic job with the scottish accents. 🔥🔥

Noah was so cute with how determined he was to stick by his mate. Elryk was so worried that Noah would resent him for the fact that if they bonded, Noah would be condemned to living deep in their hidden Highlands castle for the rest of their lives. Elryk's job as the Gargoyle who powers their protective wards makes it so he can't stray too far and too long away from their home. He needn't have worried so much though. Noah was just fine living in a huge castle and he already was making fast friends with some of the other gargoyles who lived there. Elryks bestie in particular got on famously with his new mate, much to his annoyance.

I really enjoyed meeting some of the other supernaturals in this book, especially Nessie. It's my hope that Chloe Archer expands on this universe in the future and luckily based on a few tidbits in this book it looks like that may be the case.
