How is "No-life Gamers" as a party name?

The Academy City arc starts off with a bang! After leaving the service of House Granvelle, Allen enrolls in the Academy together with Cecil, as well as Krena and Dogora who have come all the way from Krena Village. As part of their new life together, they form a party to take on the many dungeons scattered throughout Academy City, keeping in mind their ultimate goal of defeating the Demon Lord. When Allen goes in search of a healer for their party, he encounters Keel, a boy his age with the Cleric Talent.

However, Keel comes across as guarded and reticent. Just what secret is he hiding, and how is it related to House Granvelle? At the same time, why is Helmios, the Hero of Giamut, at the Academy, and what does he want from Allen? And what's this about a martial arts tournament?

The way the arc built its way towards the tournament arc is great. I can’t say more because I don’t want to ruin it

Better than the rest.

This is a great series. However I'm not sure if it is just me but there is a strange feedback that appease every once in a while. like a static or something

Hell Mode, Volume 3 was outstanding. I’m genuinely happy with how the progression has unfolded, and it feels like the story has finally hit its stride. Everything is clicking better now—the pacing, the character growth, and the overall direction of the narrative. The narrator also continues to do a great job, delivering a strong and consistent performance throughout.

The main character is finally out in the world doing things that I found genuinely interesting. A large portion of the book takes place at the academy, and I have to admit, academy arcs are often some of my favorite parts of stories like this. This one was no exception. I was honestly a little disappointed when that section ended, because I was enjoying it so much.

What really dampens my enthusiasm is the apparent state of the audiobook releases. While Volume 4 is listed on Audible, there’s still no release date, and Volume 3 came out roughly two years ago. That makes it feel increasingly unlikely that we’ll see further audiobook adaptations, which is frustrating—especially since there are reportedly around 11 volumes already available in Kindle format.

That’s a real shame, because the main character is just now becoming truly compelling. Watching him build his team and prepare to face real enemies has been incredibly satisfying, and it feels like the story is poised to move into its most exciting phase. Ending here, without a clear continuation in audio form, is deeply disappointing.

Great Progression, Painful Stopping Point
