Publisher's Summary

Hal Moore led his life by a set of principles - a code developed through years of experience, trial-and-error, and the study of leaders of every stripe. In a career spanning more than 30 years, Moore's life touched upon many historical events: the Occupation of Japan, the Korean War, Vietnam, and the refashioning of the US Army into an all-volunteer force. At each juncture, he learned critical lessons and had opportunities to affect change through measured responses.

Hal Moore on Leadership offers a comprehensive guide to the principles that helped shape Moore's success both on and off the battlefield. They are strategies for the outnumbered, outgunned, and seemingly hopeless. They apply to any leader in any organization - business or military. These lessons and principles are nothing theoretical or scientific. They are simply rules of thumb learned and practiced by a man who spent his entire adult life leading others and perfecting his art of leadership.

Amazing book on leadership! Narration not so much.

I have thoroughly enjoyed every book by Hal Moore. This book is no exception! Every point on leadership has been spot-on that I need in my life. however, the choice of narrator for this was a poor choice. Between the raspiness of The Voice and the person not pronouncing certain words as Hal Moore and Joe Galloway did made the book a bit frustrating to listen to. But in terms of content I love this book!

Best Leadership book I have ever read.

A simple yet thoughtfull book on the Leadership lessons and rules that experience in and out of Combat have to teach. It confronts the reader to analize his/her leadership style and methods. Lastly, it reminds us of the importance of leading from the front and never becoming a mere task and people manager.

Excellent

Outstanding leadership guidance, I strongly encourage every military leader to consider this as a must read. Simple rules with great examples to assist with application will make the written version a go to referenced or me. I only wish I would have read it 20 years ago.

The audio reading seems off, I can’t come up with how to describe it, but I did get accustomed to it eventually.

Easily applicable to civilian leadership as well.
