Powerful Words and a chilling warning

What a powerful story about such a taboo and hidden away culture. This story really brings to light the totally obscure Gypsy/Traveller culture. But beware, this should also serve as a PSA for the violent criminality that is commonplace within the traveller culture, that goes essentially unpunished by police and is often targeted at non-travelers. This was an eye opener for me because I had no idea, and was very concerning.

Such a raw, emotional, and gripping tale!

I highly enjoyed this book! I listened to it everyday for a week, almost couldn’t stop! It was such an emotional and heartbreaking story of a little boy’s struggle to grow up different and not ever feeling like he fit in amongst his family or people. I learned so much about Gypsies that I was always so curious about and the author presented all the facts in such a fun narrative style. The fact that this story was narrated by its author was even more powerful and moving; I could feel his emotion through his voice. I highly recommend this book.

What a brave and even heroic story to tell! Hard to hear some things but I thought Mikey did a great job as an author and narrator.

The raw honesty & crystal clear details

The courage it took to not only leave the Gypsy community, but also to write about it is astonishing. He pulls you into that world, & the range of emotions conveyed in the narration grips your heart & steals your breath. A wonderful book.
