Guiding & Protecting

A Pride and Prejudice Variation

By: Deborah Ann Kauer

Narrated by: Virtual Voice

Who among us would not want some extra help? Elizabeth Bennet, at the age of fourteen, discovers her helper while hiding in a tree. She refers to him as her guardian. Fitzwilliam Darcy’s helper speaks to him for the first time immediately after his father’s funeral. So, what help can these unseen voices provide? More than either Elizabeth or Darcy could ever imagine. For Elizabeth, it begins with help hiding from her mother, encouragement when her mother scolds and reprimands her, and advice during a summer trip to Ramsgate. For Darcy, it is advice about how to proceed as master of an estate and advice about love. What more help could one need?

Sweetly heartwarming

Loved expansion of Georgiana’s story & Lizzy’s growth with her guardian
Disliked Mrs B a lot! Wicks was loathsome and got his justifiable comeuppance

Excellent

I found this to be very interesting. ODC both have a guardian who is a person who has passed away. ODC meet early in their lives - at the time Georgiana is being scammed by George Wickham. This story takes us from the time they discover their guardian forward. It is well written and well narrated
